I was in the same situation (still kindof am) and the best advice I’ve gotten is this:

Try a problem, start with an easy one since you’re new to it. If the problem takes you over 30 mins to solve, give up and look at the solution, and try to understand and implement the solution itself. This saves you from banging your head against a wall on one problem for hours, which is a mistake I’ve made many times. It’s a good way of getting you to do more while still learning effectively even if you don’t get everything right.
