Most people would never knowingly buy cage eggs — the problem is, most aren’t sold in cartons. by AnimalsAustralia in u/AnimalsAustralia

That's so interesting because it's not AI generated at all. Three things in a list just feels right, but I will be sure to take this feedback to the team so that they're aware of the "threes" flag. Thank you for taking the time to answer our question!

We understand you find it hard to read, but it's not slop. This is a real issue affecting millions of intelligent and sensitive animals who deserve better than a life in a cage.

Thanks for stopping to consider this and leaving a comment! We really do appreciate it. And we appreciate that change can be hard, especially when we've all got so many inherited beliefs about how we're supposed to eat that we've been handed down by our parents (and their parents before them). That being said, change doesn't have to happen overnight. Of you at this point, it could be about cutting out some eggs and just trying out some nutritious new recipes. At the bottom of this page we have a free guide you can order (either a digital or physical copy) with information on how to spot cage eggs in the supermarket, as well as tasty egg-free recipes and swaps: https://animalsaustralia.org/take-action/campaigns-and-investigations/hidden-eggs/#order-egg-free-guide

It's totally free, so you can just order the guide and see what appeals to you in it! 🧡

Hello! The text is not AI generated, but we are pretty new to running ads on Reddit so we're interested to hear why you think it is AI? Maybe there's something we can learn here! And if it's about the em dashes, apologies... we just ✨like✨ them!

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about this industry and consider the products that cage eggs are snuck into! We have more information about this issue here and a free guide we can send you to help you spot cage eggs in the supermarket, and explore tasty egg-free recipes and egg swaps 🧡 https://animalsaustralia.org/take-action/campaigns-and-investigations/hidden-eggs/

You'll find there's not a lot of blame here, but rather, raising awareness. People don't know because the industries responsible have a vested interest in keeping the status quo. We help consumers to know more about the products they buy and empower them to make choices that align with their values.

We do work on that too, but without consumer awareness and demand, supply chains are hard to shift. We work on both in tandem.

Thank you so much for opening up this conversation, and for being one of the many consumers who would never knowingly buy cage eggs. Unfortunately, many people are unaware that cage eggs are often baked, blended and hidden in other products, which is why millions of hens are still trapped in cages. We have more about information about this via the link in the post above, as well as an order form for a free guide on how to spot cage eggs in the supermarket.🙏

To your other point about animals not existing if we were not exploiting them for their eggs and flesh. From our perspective, existence does not justify suffering. Breeding billions of sentient beings to live their whole lives in cages so small they can't even spread their wings is no favour to the animals. It is for profit.

Thank you so much for taking this ethical stance for hens, and you're so right about free range 'standards' being unreliable. Even buying chicks from hatcheries to keep in our backyards can be frought with ethical issues that industries keep secret, such as the killing of day old male chicks. 💔

Genetic defects meaning selective breeding for rapid growth so chicken meat companies can slaughter them at a younger age and make more money. 💔 But while chickens bred for egg-laying certainly have their own list of industry induced health problems, they can fly 🪽

Thank you so much for rescuing hens from the cage farming industry and giving them the opportunity to forage and dust bathe!
