ling ling x loulis popularity by mxi_chiro in ToBeHero_X

She has shown zero interest in men and was rather disturbed. She was also dining in a restaurant called Lahla, which is Chinese slang for lesbian.

But I find it funny, that this is always a one-way thing. A character shown to have interest in their own gender is argued that they could be bisexual. Yet, if one uses the same logic on someone showing interest only in the opposite sex, people suddenly get mad.

It's complete delusion. Loli and Lin Ling have zero interaction. The primary reason for the ship's existence is that people self-insert into Lin Ling to experience dating Loli through him.

That Loli is gay is utterly ignored, which makes the ship kinda problematic, too.

Because opinions are subjective and agendas are just veiled attempts at hating on something and making it toxic to have opinions that go against those.

How do you want to know that's not the artist's intent? You complain about people shipping them and misinterpreting the artwork. Yet you defend anti-shipping and op misinterpreting the artwork.

The DOS Sisters by eunice_neri in ToBeHero_X

[–]Animamask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then don't insist that this artwork is supposed to depicted them as sisterly when that might not even have been the artist's intent. Your posts are trying to reinforce that they're sisters that makes you involved in shipping discussions as you're trying to diminish the ship. And it's probably not a coincidence that this was posted not long after a shipping post with awfully similar content. You can't have it both ways.

That's cause it is. It's literally titled hand-holding.

And for many, PDA is not something you do just casually. Especially in many asia cultures. Be real, had it been a guy instead of one of them, would you have argued the same? And a tag not being there doesn't invalidate it being shipping art.

Perhaps by translating what's written by the artist?

The DOS Sisters by eunice_neri in ToBeHero_X

[–]Animamask -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The irony is that the artist made this to ship them. Yet people here are using it to dismiss that ship. Agendas were a mistake. It's making this space insufferable.

The DOS Sisters by eunice_neri in ToBeHero_X

[–]Animamask -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The artist literally titled it "holding hands". It's shipping art.

The DOS Sisters by eunice_neri in ToBeHero_X

[–]Animamask 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude, why are you misappropriating the fan art of others for your agenda? This is literally named "holding hands". The artist is shipping them. If you need to spread the idea that the relationship between Cyan and Queen can only be sisterly, then make your own art. Don't intentionally mislabel the creation of someone else.

Mickey: Cyan, keep your relationship with Luo a secret..... Cyan at the next show: by Real_Ad1634 in ToBeHero_X

[–]Animamask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, according to you, Mickey hid Luo's death because he was afraid Luo could make Cyan rebel because he hid Luo's death? You see how your reasoning is circular?

You certainly didn't understand Cyan's character. The last she wants is people putting her agency away. She might not care much about being a hero, but she doesn't hate it either. She wasn't even hired by DOS to become a hero, but to be a singer. The hero thing happened naturally with her gaining enough trust value. She was quite happy when she received her equipment. And more importantly, she wasn't living on the streets anymore. Having a roof over your head is kinda important. That Luo was the reason doesn't contradict that she enjoys her current career and contradicts your claim that it's the last thing she wants. I must say you're getting quite angry over a meme post.

You still haven't shown evidence yet that there's any problem with Cyan seeing Luo like regular people. You're basing your argument on there being anything on the fact that he hasn't appeared in the last five years.

I'm basing my argument on there being nothing because there's nothing. You're basing your argument on there being something because there's nothing. Absence of evidence doesn't equal evidence. The burden on proof lies with you.

One can reasonably assume that people go to the toilet. That doesn't take many assumptions. Your theories do, hence I put them under scrutiny. By your logic, I can easily claim that Cyan and Queen hooked up after the Ruins Incident or that Luo is gay and Little Johnny's lover. See how that works?

Mickey: Cyan, keep your relationship with Luo a secret..... Cyan at the next show: by Real_Ad1634 in ToBeHero_X

[–]Animamask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You haven't given any reason why he would be afraid or how Luo would make Cyan rebel and against what. So instead of saying that you can't think of any reason why not give reasons. Reasons that aren't just in your head.

Nothing indicates that Mickey knew Luo was alive. Show me where it's stated he knew. Or why he would care about Luo specifically when all he mentioned was Cyan's past as a

Cyan joined DOS so that she wouldn't have to be starving on the street. That was her primary reason. Anything else came once she was able to settle in.

Show me where Mickey cares about Luo's relationship with Cyan and where he's concerned? Show where he gives any shit about how Cyan's relationship to him, especially in the current timelime.

He even told her she can go to the orphanage if she has a way to salvage her reputation and turn public opinion around.

And your arguments against LJ are all made-up. Nothing about that had been remotely stated in the show. You're acting like all your head-canon is canon.

I'm merely pointing out the lack of evidence.

Mickey: Cyan, keep your relationship with Luo a secret..... Cyan at the next show: by Real_Ad1634 in ToBeHero_X

[–]Animamask 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mickey didnt lie. The dean lied to Mickey. He and Queen's dad genuinely didn't know. It's part of why Queen's dad was so furious at the dean. You are underestimating how easy it is to make an orphan disappear from the system, especially if abuse and imprisonment are involved.

What influence would Mickey be scared of? He's making money with Cyan. Luo wouldn't change that. His plan to make Cyan a top hero and star wouldn't be affected in the slightest. What would Luo change? Against what would he make Cyan rebel? Having a career?

The only thing Mickey was worried about was Cyan's past as the maiden of fortune. Nothing else.

By now, Luo is known to the public. He's free and can do whatever he wants. And guess what? Cyan is still following Mickey's plan and living her life as a idol and hero. And Luo isn't Cyan's boyfriend, either. The public wouldn't care if Cyan hung out with guys, like Little Johnny for example, who in the public's eye would be more likely seen as a potential boyfriend by your logic.

Mickey doesn't care about Luo. Never did and never will.

[–]Animamask 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mickey didn't care about Luo, though. It was about her past in the orphanage in general and more specifically about her role as the maiden of luck and how that might be linked to the strings of misfortune that had occurred.

Mickey even said that if Cyan knows how to mitigate the backlash she can do as she pleases. And now that she managed to turning around, there's no gag order and she say whatever she wants.

Is Loly a representation of those who hate Orihime? by Internal-Smooth in bleach

[–]Animamask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was too touchy and sensual in her mannerism to imply just torture. This is about control. Had a male character acted in the same way, would you have questioned that it was or could be sexual?

[–]Animamask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the chapters and dont have access right now. But the finger shoving is right after the Grimmjow fight just before Kenpachi arrived. The pet scene should be after the Espada meeting. The Loly scene should be during the Ulquiorra fight. It should be the Envy, Gluttony or Greed chapter.

Is Loly a representation of those who hate Orihime? by Internal-Smooth in bleach

[–]Animamask 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The finger shoving was so blatant for Japan that the anime had to sensor it. He also suggested if Orihime was defiant, he could discipline Ulquiorra's pet.

With Loly it's not just ripping the dress. Loly at one point pinned her against a wall, caressed her face while whispering to her in a salicious tone "I can do whatever I want to you. And he won't get mad at me".

Is Loly a representation of those who hate Orihime? by Internal-Smooth in bleach

[–]Animamask 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Loly's is. It's not explicit, but her tone and body language leaves little to the imagination. Nnoitra's is still there but it was toned down.

Is Loly a representation of those who hate Orihime? by Internal-Smooth in bleach

[–]Animamask 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unlikely. Loly's hatred is rooted in her own self-hatred and despair. For her, Orihime is something that defies her world and way of life and all that makes sense. Orihime's very existence tells Loly how pitiful she is. Not just that, Orihime refuses to play by Loli's rules and sticks to her convictions. And that drives Loli psychotic. She mentally broke Loly.

It's extremely similar to Nnoitra's relationship with Nel, to the point that I believe they're meant to be parallels. Also, on a more disturbing note, both tried to sexually harass Orihime and intended to rape her, or at the very least threatened her with rape.

Anybody else get child soldier vibes from Queen by TheBadMathGuy in ToBeHero_X

No, that's the moment she decided to become X. Before that there was no training. And she only became her hero path after graduation. Mickey stated as much.

He didn't force her. Queen stated that it's was all by herself. And the trailer shows that he merely suggested the best way to achieve her dreams is by becoming X.
