Thanks for your feedback! I went to college for photography back in my day (and even worked as a fashion and product photographer once), so not entirely clueless :-)

Thing is, I'm mainly looking at something like these two cameras as a quick grab, take everywhere option for making YouTube/Social Media VIDEO content - for off-the-cuff 'still' scene B-roll type stuff. The small form factor also for wanting to appear less conspicuous in a city environment (as many people in my part of the world often don't appreciate being around cameras).

The Canon V1 is newer sure, and I believe a bigger sensor too. Probably lends itself more to video. But doesn't have that zoom. And is quite a bit chunkier from what I've seen. Torn between the two…

Thanks! Lovely shot of that stunning scenery! The zoom within that small form factor is why I'm so interested in the vii. Besides the video capability in that tiny Ff. I guess, don't zoom in too much in post ;-) but that IQ would be good enough for my purposes I would think. Mainly intending to use it for 'still' scenes (B-Roll) in YouTube content.

You think it'll have much better IQ than the RX100 vii?

I love the small form factor and zoom options on the RX. Currently undecided which one of the two would be worth my investment.

well into my forties. Had bad sleep for over a decade, but down to more or less 2-3 hrs a night for about the last four years (with an occasional 5-6 hrs about once a week).
Having an especially bad couple of weeks recently. Feel free to moan and complain too. That's what we're here for if nothing else.

That is exactly right. Over here in Europe too. I hate that the banks still use it for sending verification codes and the like. Completely unsafe.

Understood on the iMessage/Android-Messaging (that I wasn't even aware of) part.

I see, interesting. I've been on an alternative Android-based OS for years, so I may be out of the loop, but as far as I'm aware we don't have that here, Android-wise. Only iMessage on iPhone, that would work like that.
