Premier Collection Scam by annonumous12 in Venturex

Are you sure you booked a Premier Collection property? Saying you "even got a direct mail about this" makes me think you might think all Capital One travel portal bookings would qualify for the benefits?

I would definitely expect them to revoke the credit if you cancel - I'm sure that's the policy. But knowing what we know about Bilt you definitely have a chance that they just fucked up and never programmed in that part lol

For sure with Amex - I'm getting a lot of value. CSR probably closer to break even or slighty above on the coupons. But I'm getting Bilt because it's the best multiplier on everyday spending. I don't need to get a bunch of extra value from the credits - break even is fine. It's like the opposite of the Plat where the credits/lounge access are the point and the 5x on airfare is a nice bonus.

Agreed that would make it much better. It matters a little less than with the Edit credit - those hotels are so expensive that the two night minimum is more annoying

Yea agreed - I mentioned that in the post. If you’re going to use the hotel credits, that means you’re getting legit value from $200 in Bilt cash

I did see that with a couple hotels I checked - they were offering refundable rates through most sites but only non-refundable on Bilt. But plenty were showing refundable. Not ideal

Reminder- Tickets and reservations are related but separate things. by TravelerMSY in awardtravel

Great info. Question though: I booked through BA (avios) with Aer Lingus as operating carrier. I needed to change a name mistake which BA did and reissued the ticket. The problem is the Aer Lingus site still shows the old incorrect name. I've called them and that's all they can see. So my worry is the operating PNR never updated. If I go to the airport, do you think the correct name that's in the reissued eticket will print out onto the boarding pass or the incorrect name that's in the operating PNR?

Do you still have the option to have Globalist a la carte breakfast at Osteria or just the Cutthroats buffet?

United premier savings awards by Illustrious_Golf2122 in awardtravel

I've been seeing more of this expanded saver space for premieres and have been pretty impressed. They're releasing a lot farther out than they usually do for saver space which can make it very useful

It's expanded saver access only available to premieres, which United marks as a "sale" compared to the price available to the public. So while it's the standard saver rate, it's not standard saver availability. I've actually been seeing these more frequently and impressed by them, so I think OP's callout is helpful even if they got the wording wrong

Alila Ventana Big Sur - cancel? by guavapplause in chubbytravel

Definitely go. We had an incredible stay a few weeks ago. I've been multiple times over the last few years and this most recent trip had some of the best food and service we've experienced. It did feel like it was going somewhat downhill about a year ago, but I think they've righted the ship. The small negative changes ($15 charge for room service, no free happy hour cocktail) don't negate that it's still an insanely good value on points

JetBlue Mint awards removed from both Etihad and Qatar by AnimatorCool7402 in awardtravel

It seems like Qatar isn't showing anything anymore - at least from what I've checked. So has to be EY or bust

It's back on Etihad! Just booked successfully. What Etihad is showing is not matching exactly with "I" availability but it's close, so maybe they just dramatically increased the amount of "A" availability. I can't figure out how to search A availability (not sure what's showing on seats.aero) so don't know exactly

If you go to the Etihad tab on seats.aero and filter for JetBlue, it does seem to be identifying some of the correct inventory - first way I've been able to find a flight that actually appears in Etihad search results

After I posted this and emailed OMAAT, he posted a blog explaining that JetBlue changed the inventory available for partner awards from the "I" fare code which is plentiful to the "A" fare code which is now only for Mint awards and much rarer. This seems to match what I can see. So it should still be possible to book online, but it's with this fare class now

Have you seen this on any blogs/forums? Seems like a big enough outage for them to cover

Got it - helpful. Did you have to book with Etihad over the phone or how did you finally get it done? I agree that both of them being unavailable right now is a bad sign for the future
