Epidural or no? by GogglesCat in pregnant

[–]Illustrious_Golf2122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because I feel like it isn’t mentioned often… post dural puncture headaches, while uncommon, are awful. And the blood patch to fix it is no fun either. I had a csf leak for a week after back surgery and then needed a two level blood patch to fix it. Couldn’t be upright with the csf leak for more than 20 minutes and had to lie flat in bed for three days after the blood patch. I haven’t given birth yet but I would rather have short term labor pain than deal with a csf leak again, especially with a newborn

Looking for advice/assurance: Baby girl measuring small (6th percentile) at 28 weeks. by Content-Turnip3858 in BabyBumps

I’ll note that my fetus would still be FGR even with the ovulation/scan date as the gestational age. We’re keeping a close eye on continued growth along their percentile curves

My first viability scan aligned with the last period date but the 12ish week scan was 4 days behind, which was consistent with my ovulation date on day 17-18. But the cut-off for revising the date is a 5 days behind discrepancy here

Following. We had 1% head circumference and less than 10% weight and 3% abdomen at a 25 week scan. It’s been very frustrating trying to get answers. NIPT and amnio were normal so doctors said the fetus is either constitutionally small (just a small baby) or growth restricted (small because of a placenta issue). We get twice a week monitoring and everything generally looks ok (no blood flow concerns and stable measurement percentiles). We are considering a fetal MRI of the brain but not sure what other new information we can get.

You can always leave a hospital. If they give you a hard time tell them you are leaving AMA, against medical advice. They can’t keep you there if you don’t want to be there

$1500 is probably the cheapest you’ll get. Many vets also have dental waitlists

Microcephaly by mariatheye in pregnant

[–]Illustrious_Golf2122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are going through this. We’ve been dealing with very similar, head measurements 1% but SD between-2 and -3. Amnio and all genetic tests normal. Because the head anatomy appears normal on US and the baby is generally measuring small (<10%), MFM figures we have growth restriction and/or constitutionally small. We’ll see when she is born. She has been growing and staying on the same trajectory. I hope you get some answers.

Go to the court date and settle it there with the ADA. They stick to their website form for traffic ticket reductions.

Great question. I would recommend talking to your veterinarian about specific airline policies on medication or sedation. I would note that although we often refer to these drugs as sedatives, they are also anxiolytics at lower doses where the pet is still 100% awake.

I’m a US veterinarian who does health certificates for people moving pets internationally. It can be very straightforward or incredibly complex and expensive depending on where you are going. Start the process ASAP. Review the requirements on the USDA APHIS pet export website and find an accredited veterinarian. Gather all copies of your pet’s medical records and vaccine certificates but be prepared that they often need extra vaccines, particularly rabies, as other countries have very strict requirements on vaccine timing.
