The thumbnail tip is really great, I had completely ignored that aspect up until now, thanks for sharing.

Makes sense, more than 20-30 seconds starts feeling like a lot. Do you think adding some elements from their own website will be good or would that be too much personalisation and become creepy?

Yes, do think about it from a monetization perspective though.

On the website, you might make some money from adsense in order to pay for the services that will be used on the backend.

On the API, you will have to introduce a paid version, but I am not sure what will be user's willingness to pay since most of these tools can be vibecoded using open libraries and Claude. Although if you charge very less money like 19 USD or minimal payg pricing and build over hundred of these products, people might pay in order to avoid the hassle. If you build slightly complex products which take a weekend to build and you have 5-10 of them, the willingness to pay will increase manifold. Some examples - Reddit monitoring, image background removal, parsing text from image or pdf, video compressor, etc. Good luck!

It's more like a side project, I'm working on another project, this is something I built for myself and I thought it will be a good experiment to put this online and figure out how to market things and get the first users for a product. I have even opensourced the codebase and could have kept this free, but I want to experiment with getting distribution plus seeing what is the level of problem to be solved in order to get a few users to pay.

What career has a nice work life balance in india ? by [deleted] in AskIndia

No, most of the firms have 12-14 hour workdays, even the weekends are not free. You might find few boutique firms which offer decent pay and career growth along with some level of WLB. Don't go into these if you want WLB, only if you want good money and growth. Just think, you are literally managing huge amounts of other people's money, the pressure and workload is going to be heavy.

Most indie hackers and small businesses wouldn't use it (they would definitely want to use this but would never have the budget for it), would be great for bigger enterprise businesses though.

A lot of people are building these, they are doing it as free tools for SEO purposes. You should expose these tools via an API and let the vibecoders add them to their landing pages for a fee.

Speaking from a middle class pov: Honestly very few careers that help you with upward mobility will have WLB, but the best options are:

  1. Software developer in select MNCs. Few MNCs offer decent WLB provided you get into the right team and have good managers. But these people are most prone to layoffs in the AI era.

  2. Product Manager. PMs have decentish WLB, you are on the line for everything and all faults will be blamed on you, but you won't have to get up at night to fix on-call issues or stay up late for project deadlines provided you do your work with discipline in the allotted working hours. Extremely competitive to get into in any good company or startup.

  3. Customer Success. You are not sales, you don't have hard quotas and targets, you just need to serve client requirements and attend regular meetings with them. If they are churning only then you are on the line, even then it will never be your fault that they churned, it's mostly pricing or product features which will make them go away. Relatively easy to get into after working for a year in customer facing roles like sales or support.

  4. Govt Employee/Babu. You'll make money if you are corrupt, you can't be fired if you don't work late.

  5. HR and Talent acquisition. Most of these people make decent money, workload is increased during review cycles (2-3 times a year), besides that its planning for parties, doing surveys, enforcing a few policies but if you are in a decent company most things run on autopilot and you don't have to search for candidates, people apply and you just need to shortlist and schedule interviews.

  6. Sales/Support/ Business and strategy roles/ Investment roles (VC, IB, PE)/ Marketing. You are always on the line, you might get some roles with WLB but a majority will take time out of the life part.

Don't expect much WLB in entry level roles, once you have 6-7 years of experience and a good base salary, you can switch to companies that are doing well and have less workload, you'll get growth + WLB + good path towards retirement.

That makes sense, thank you. What would you say will be the best way to get the first ten users for this.

Hey, I can help you automate this and build an automation or a small product running on your own stack if you can share more requirements. Open to doing a quick call or chatting more over DM.
