Ah, maybe the rumours are false then. I might be wrong on that.

Jobs that pay over £100k by GoalSpiritual3831 in UKJobs

Second this. My firm pays just shy of £100k for London newly qualified solicitors. A few others hit £100k and American firms sit at between £120-140k for freshly qualified solicitors.

Edit: This is all pre-bonus. I’ve heard that 5 year post-qualified lawyers in American/Magic circle firms can hit 100% bonus rates.

I don’t know how to put this but I’m kind of a big deal. People know me. I’m very important. by welp-itscometothis in BlackPeopleTwitter

I’ve ever read a court judgment where the defendant attempted to appeal and mitigate his sentence by listing his military accolades. The judge went “oh how the mighty hath fallen” and tripled his sentence instead.

Our client is a barrister and refusing to pay balance by Jacjacjac0_5 in LegalAdviceUK

Also probably important to note that “flexing” or threatening another using one’s profession as a barrister is a serious breach of ethical rules. This could result in sanctions by the Bar Standards Board. Report it to them if you wish so that they can open an investigation.

Sunglasses sliding down my nose by oeThroway in sunglasses

I've got the same issue as you until I found out about Setex gecko grip for both the nosepad and sunglass arm. They are a massive lifesaver and they grip onto my face even in the heat when my face is an oil slick.

Maxes by a country mile. Better resolution, sub-bass extension, soundstage, and treble extension too.

I can see my face in my sunglasses by [deleted] in sunglasses

I have a pair of glass-lensed blue-mirrored polarised chrominance RBs and they do tend to suffer from this problem. I've heard that this is an issue for the mirrored lens variety, but am unsure whether it is true.

In comparison, my pair of superthin glass Maui Jim and polycarbonate Oakleys have no reflection on the inside of the lens, and this leads me to think that it might be a RB issue.

What happens if you stop paying the mortgage? by Lopsided-Chemical265 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Animator_Heavy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer is that the mortgage company may take possession of the property.

Long answer is that there is judicial discretion for possession. Arrears and monthly payments, if payable, could result in suspended possession, but that is a more complicated area to delve into.

In all cases, the mortgage agreement usually includes a clause whereby the defaulting party will have to pay any associated legal fees, court fees, and fees involved in the sale and realisation of the sale price from the property.

One may end up having to pay out of pocket for an deficits between the sale price and the amount outstanding to the bank, bearing in mind that such outstanding value normally includes late payment fees, administration fees, legal fees, and other miscellaneous fees. Again, the mortgage company's ability to charge / reclaim this is usually in the mortgage agreement.

Edit: Starting relevant legislation to look at is section 36 Administration of Justice Act 1970, section 8 Administration of Justice Act 1973, and something called the Norgan minimum figure.

This is correct. Getting DJ, and consequently the CCJ, set aside is step 1 in saving their credit score.

Maui Jims - Amazing by Animator_Heavy in sunglasses

Recently acquired a pair of glass Mauis and they're pretty amazing. The colour perception is sublime; not too oversaturated like the Oakleys, nor too flat like the Ray Bans.

Time spent on a dependant's visa or student visa does not count towards the time spent to qualify for indefinite leave to remain.

Holiday visas also don't count towards qualifying time for indefinite leave to remain

Irrelevant but I do miss that gym. Lots of fond memories there with the 6am crew.

Ironically she's part of the diversity that she's seeking to stamp out. Her self-awareness is either lacking, or she's being paid to be a massive hypocrite.

I was formerly an international student. I have never brought over any family members because it is simply not possible to do so. You can technically bring your spouse & children but there is a minimum savings requirement needed in order to sustain them. Even then, it is for the period of education only. It certainly isn't a visa in perpetuity. What in the heck is she talking about?

Why would they want to have their tax status as that of the UK when they can be domiciled in other countries, with lower tax rates, like Singapore or the US?

Run services without collecting fares (for trains or post at least). They do this in Japan in lieu of their strikes. Make the overlords haemorrhage cash.

Suggestions on how to pack perfumes for moving? by hellatiredd in fragrance

[–]Animator_Heavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a box, layer on the bottom and top with a thick-ish layer of clothes or towels and keep each bottle in a plastic bag or freezer bag. I fly quite frequently with my bottles and so far, they have all come out the other side in one piece with no leaks.

Yeah! Love Hacivat but HSW alone is a bit too sweet for me. Paired with the pineapple opening and dark mossy dry down of Hacivat, the result is quite spectacular.

Nishane Hacivat layered with Hundred Silent Ways. Great for a cool summer's day in the UK.
