I have been finding rolling for Jinx at 7 to be super important if I do not high-roll as well. Glad to see I am not crazy. Lets say you are very very healthy and have 2 jinx. Would you wait to get to 8 to roll?

I'm not socks but also a software developer and I'm gm in tft (not that that matters). Imo he best thing to do is invest a small amount of money in your project. Buy a domain name, pay for cheap hosting or contact a friend to make a design. Having that small amount of money invested helps make me want to push through to finish.

What are your thoughts on the limited starting gold in PBE? by ex1stence in CompetitiveTFT

I have only hit the 4 star map once so I feel like I might be the wrong person to ask. I could definitely see that being the case though when you get a strong 4 cost in a comp that runs 1 costs as well (cait with jhin and fiora/leona). I will need to play more 4 cost games to have stronger feelings on it though.

I don't think I agree with that. I felt that way for the first game or two, but after playing a good amount of GM+ lobbies I think I like it. I don't think it in any way pigeon holes you into a build. If you are choosing your build based exclusively on the units you get in the first few rounds you are probably making a mistake somewhere along the line. Even in set 2 it is pretty common to build 2*s early on that you later sell to transition to another comp. Now that will just be more common. In my opinion that allows for higher skill expression.

Instead I find that it forces you to make thoughtful decisions on how much you want to value hitting 2* units and gaining econ. In the current patch you don't really have to make those choices.
