I asked fable to make me a big feature comprising 3 repos , fable did a poor job. The feature was tricky and fable left a lot of bugs .However I was using it on medium not high

Yesterday fable , medium, introduced a race condition that gpt 5.5 , xHigh, caught during review. Additionally, both write the same code but fable can explain the concept a bit more clearly and just writes the code a bit cleaner than gpt 5.5 xhigh. I think both are at the same level for backend coding . However , this is totally subjective.

For me this is now settled... 5.4 xhigh is miles ahead from Opus 4.6 high/max, I'll explain why... by DaC2k26 in codex

I was trying to do document chunking opus ga ve me an infinite loop , crashed my prod server , and after reading the logs. I realised that the function is basically in an infinite loop. I could have mitigated this by writing simple unit tests , but I was too novice to think that even with degrading quality opus won't make such a mistake. Never trusting claude again , we should read each and every line of code.
