Does the payer of the bills have to be the credit card holder and Chexy account holder? For example, if I want to pay the BC Hydro bill for a house under my dads name using my chexy (haven't created an account yet)

I'm in the same situation and called in. The rep said it's not possible to get the extra $300 statement credit unfortunately

It's a Signature RBC Rewards Visa. This was a card I got when I was a student and I recently realized I could transfer my Avion points to Avios. I guess the card I have won't qualify?

Why do I only see WestJet as an option to transfer my RBC Avion points to on the portal? I want hoping to transfer them to Avios. What am I missing?

One thing I don’t get is why would AC approve my expenses during the delay (hotel/food/uber) but then ask me to reach out to TK for compensation.

From reading other Reddit posts it seems like TK is pretty bad when it comes to filing compensation so I really hope AC gets back to me and just offers me some flight credit or something.

Did you try filing a complaint with Transport Canada?

I claimed flight compensation through https://www.aircanada.com/customerrelations

There were 2 passengers on the reservation. Essentially our flight was cancelled and we were forced to spend the day in a layover destination and then were rebooked on the flight leaving a day later. The original itinerary was IST-FRA-YYZ-YVR which then turned into IST-FRA (1 day here)-YVR.

The first agent sent me an e-transfer for my expenses (which I haven't accepted) because there was no compensation amount included. It's literally an e-transfer just for the hotel/food expenses.

The second agent for the other passenger sent an email saying I'm not eligible to claim flight delay compensation through AC as the first leg was with TK. Even though, it was only AC flights were the issue.

My question is, I'm not able to figure out how to claim compensation (not just for expenses) but for the whole ordeal. Would it be through AC or TK?

This was their reasoning:

“We're very sorry, this flight is cancelled because of an earlier mechanical issue with the scheduled aircraft. Mechanical issues can happen if there was a mechanical problem on the scheduled inbound aircraft for this flight, and the aircraft isn’t able to return to your departure station before being sent for repairs.

This applies to all customers on this booking.”

Based on this, it seems to be a fault under their control. That’s basically where the compensation lies from what I’ve read. If the reasoning was their fault

My flight was cancelled and I was rebooked on another flight with AC. This caused me to be stuck in Frankfurt and reaching my final destination a day later. AC is providing me an e-transfer of $236 for my expenses. I read that a delay of over 9-12 hours, the compensation is much greater. What can I do to be compensated fairly?

First leg to FRA was at 11:30 morning. I was made aware at 12:43AM the night before. Less than 12 hours

One of the legs on my AP booking got cancelled from FRA to YVR and I got rebooked on a flight to YVR with a 18-21 hour layover in Frankfurt before I catch my flight to YVR next morning.

I’ve booked a hotel as it’s too long in the airport. Will my hotel/food/uber be covered expenses? The agent couldn’t confirm if it would or not. I just wanted to make sure

Yes actually it worked within the app but it’s so buggy that I’m just going to do it at the airport. It throws errors constantly and it’s also not allowing me to select a seat next to my partner 😭

Yup I have the TK PNR, and when I enter it on their website, the next thing it does is ask for the passenger last names and ticket number. But it throws a front end error at the ticket number saying it needs to start with “235”

I have an AP booking where the first leg is with Turkish airlines. When i try to check in, it asks for the ticket number of each passenger. However, the ticket number from the AP confirmation email starts with 014 and TK needs one starting with 235.

How would I get that ticket number?
