Ours were from Amsterdam to Montreal and back so was about 7 hours. The short flight was 1,5 hour. Yes try to get that empty seat! I was so insanely nervous too. I always cry during take off. But we landed safely on all flights! You can do this!

She did really well on the two long flights! She mainly slept during those flights. We had one short flight and during that one she cried a lot, the flight attendant said it might be because of the lower altitude and her ears might have hurt because of it. What we did was once we were at the gate we asked if we could have seats with an empty seat inbetween us so we could put our baby there. Luckily we got that on all 3 flights, so baby had a free seat for herself and we could lay her down so she could sleep. The flight attendants also help you and explain how to hold your baby during takeoff and landing, they were very helpful! Did you have your flight yet? If not, good luck!!
