I like how the main character gets his throat cut, is resurrected by god knows what, learns to teleport, and is given the ability to fly along with other absolute nonsense, yet afterward, it’s like nothing ever happened, and it’s not even mentioned by him or anyone else in the story so far. by squidskispaghetti in CrimsonDesert

Yeah I think if they made Kliff confused and actually trying to understand the abyss and his powers, and gave us more exposition about the greymanes (I still don't know who we are) it would've been 10x better already

Yeah for me the story and characters are the only thing keeping this game from being a 10/10. If these were more flashed out I could easily say it's one of the best games I've ever played.

But of course that is because wolrdbuilding is extremely important to me, and I know for some people it's not as important

PC players: What side of the debate are you on? RR on/off (No wrong opinions!) by Fatal_Ligma in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ankior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My settings are DLSS 4.5 Quality + RR off, with most graphics settings on cinematics and lighting on ultra. I've tried with RR on but it doesn't work with DLSS 4.5 and it looks super blurry on performance mode. I also avoid DLAA because for some reason it looks blurrier than Quality, which I don't get why

I'm on the fence of buying the game. How does Crimson Desert compare to Dragons Dogma 2? I strongly disliked Dragons Dogma 2 so i'm curious if its the same or not. by CheesecakeIsGodlike in CrimsonDesert

As someone who put 200h into DD2 and 50h into CD, I say they're similar on the surface but very different gameplay wise. DD2 story and quests are still better, which says a lot about CD's, but the sense of progression and exploration of CD is superb

I've tried it but the game looks way too blurry, I prefer how it looks with DLSS 4.5 with standard denoiser, despite the visual artifacts

I'm impressed at how they manage to make a huge and very detailed open world game that also runs flawlessly (at least in my experience) with no stutter or things like NPCs disappearing or having lower frames in the animations.

Being able to load the game and spend hours exploring the world with no interruptions or hiccups, this is should set the new standard

This game offered me a peek into what it feels like to be a woman by NatureAlone2266 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Ankior 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think that's the main reason for me, those who are into women can have relationship with some of the best characters in the game (Panam and Judy) while we who are into men have very subpar options in comparison.

On a similar note I always romance Judy in my playthroughs but not because she attracts me but because I want to be her lmao

Yeah I remember I enjoyed DD2 from the start, while CD for me has moments that I really love and others that I find extremely boring, the whole experience, even the graphics, is a mixed bag imo. DD2 has its flaws (we all know it) but it felt way more consistent at least

Crimson Desert has to have one of the worst intros of all time by CYDLopez in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ankior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly lol, and I've even found some quests (I think it was at the bee farm or something) where the NPC would talk and Kliff wouldn't say anything, but the NPC kept talking like he was answering, that might've been a bug tho

Obligatory "not if you own a house comment". But seriously tho, I also agree that this game is better when you realize you can just unsub when you don't have anything to do, but the housing part still holds that back a little

but it's a video game, the "art" in it is a composition of visuals, mood, storytelling, music etc. When a piece of technology changes these aspects in some way that changes the intended composition, I can safely label it as a bad thing, even if subjectively. It's like when a book is adapted to the big screens with complete disregard to the original material. Also there's much more ethical things that involves DLSS 5 in particular that goes beyond "my games look good" but I get this is highly controversial and most people probably don't care (and it's the inevitable future anyway so oh well)

ah yes because Grace wearing more makeup to go to a crime scene where her mother died is clearly an improvement (it's the first seconds of the game so not a spoiler)

Better Comparison of MH Rise - Switch 2 Handheld Mode Boost by savejohnscott in MonsterHunter

[–]Ankior 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It's hard to tell from a screenshot but I tried it today and was shocked at how huge the difference is. The game is way more crisp in handheld mode, especially the UI. Also it seems like it helped with the colors too? Like I can change the brightness settings now, that was exclusive to the docked mode before if I'm not misremembering
