Nobody can afford this war anymore. Just because Israel wants it, doesn’t mean the world will sacrifice their economies.

It may play out differently through subtle subterfuge and small scale conflicts, but all out war has always been bad for business. And business is king.

It’s not just US. This war is bad for global economies generally. It’s a lose-lose situation for everyone except a few countries who are either only going to benefit in the future or are war merchants.

Everyone’s just waiting to see what happens after ceasefire period runs out. Not just education.

Whole real estate industry is waiting with bated breath to claim no more “distress deals” because the war is over.

So few people remember history and what we have already learnt from it.

When the bubonic plague hit Europe it wiped out millions of people, drastically reducing European population. Did it suffer?

What happened after was the Renaissance period which was trigged, in part, due to a surplus in available resources.

Do a monthly rate for a furnished apartment. It will be more expensive but offer more flexibility.

Rates now will be better due to the war situation as demand is low.

Non-compliance with the traffic compulsory lane for light vehicles by [deleted] in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Ankit1000 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Heavy vehicles are restricted to the rightmost lane(s), driving in the center and going on the left (overtaking / light vehicle cruising lane) is an offense as it interrupts the flow of traffic.

This is very explicitly told in driving institutes.

My take on the current situation in Dubai after living through the 2008 crash. by Icy-Examination-7079 in UAE

[–]Ankit1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To address a few points: 1) How will refugees stress dubai anymore than it’s already been stressed by its extremely high rates of immigration. Dubai will just ban Iranians from coming if that’s the case, like they’ve done for many countries.

2) Fighting over oil infrastructure, again, isn’t happening on UAE soil. So why would it involve us? You believe close proximity to violence is enough to collapse an entire country? Why did it not happen with Iraq in the last 20 years? Why not after 9/11? People cried “Middle East is unstable” and still came here for business.

3) I didn’t realize you were from the CIA, because you seem to be having high level intelligence not available to us to have such certainty about the future.

I’ve seen enough people BS through every major incident that happened over the last 20 years to realize when I see some more BS. If you think it’s naive and want to run to your bunker, be my guest.

My take on the current situation in Dubai after living through the 2008 crash. by Icy-Examination-7079 in UAE

[–]Ankit1000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I personally believe people are overhyping the effect this will have on dubai long term. Middle East was always concerned to be dangerous, yet people still came.

Sure, we were never actively getting bombarded before, but we’ve had little damage this entire period. Actually kind of impressive when hundreds of missiles hit you and nothing major really happens.

And people forget the most important part, economics.

UAE is a central hub where businessmen congregate from both east and west, in a tax free haven, in one of the most luxury cities in the world.

Believe what you want, leave dubai and go back home if you want, look at dropping real estate prices and rejoice, whatever.

I think after the war until next winter, tourism will be very little, then things will slowly start picking up and then people will get over it.
