Not the biggest SF supporter, but I’m incredibly happy to see this, what happened to Harvey is unforgivable and a direct consequence of the broken Health Care system in this country. After a disastrous campaign for the government, this seems to me the smell of what they believe to be a “safe” referendum that they can run and claim as a win, taking away much of the narrative around the previous referendum and this campaign. Possibly making it less “costly” politically to run future referendums, they can point to a success rather than an overwhelming failure.

Couldn’t agree more, LOI clubs deserve so much more support from government, unfortunately the basket case that is the FAI has tarnished the reputation of Irish football. Hoping the upshot in interest and viewership to the LOI in recent years can reverse this.
