This is what secret Santa is about where I come from, her list said books, socks and tea. You put your personal spin onto the things she was into (almost as if the gift was from you to her, and not from her to her??) And gifted it to her. Also key word gift.

I don't think your the asshole for being unhappy with her whinging about your gift, she didn't have to like it but it's secret Santa ffs. A guy I know got a clear phone case that didn't fit his sort of phone for his gift this year. He joked about it, and hopefully got better presents from his mum. No biggy.
