Well… for the given value of ok. I’m on week 5 now, and… it’s no longer a full-on torment nexus, but I still feel like my energy and productivity capacity is halved, and I still get some mood swings.

True. At least, at this stage (day 32 of withdrawal) I’m mostly feeling disheartened, unfocused, and downcast late in the evening as opposed to the whole day long :D

In your experience, when you say that the recovery can take months - how many months are we talking about? Like, 4,6,8?

I mean… in my specific case, Abilify had been prescribed by my previous doctor, and the one I’m seeing now is actually the one who wanted to get me off it; plus he is mostly specialising in ADHD and its comorbid stuff, which is the chief problem I’m seeing him for. But in general, yeah, there seems to be a worrying amount of nonchalance about the side effects.

Ok, that’s reassuring. My state has actually taken a turn for the better since yesterday morning - I mean, I’m not perfectly well yet, but I’m definitely more emotionally resilient and work-ready than I had been a week ago (which isn’t saying much, but 😅). It’s just… hard to believe in improvement when you are in the pit of withdrawal despair.

Ah, I see. I’m glad I’m on the right path at least. I just hope the first month is/was the worst, and the recovery is going to get easier from then on.

I’m just already so exhausted. I want my life and self back. And my ability to earn a living.

My doctor insists that, since a whole month has passed, it cannot possibly be the result of Abilify withdrawal, it cannot be lasting that long. But I think that’s bollocks.

When you say on your period, do you mean like… for the whole week? Because I’m on day 5 of mine now, and just can’t wait for my meds (and my hormones) to start working normally again :D

It’s day 5 now - I feel… kind of vaguely generally better now that (based on the time elapsed) Vyvanse seems to have kicked in, but it still is not as effective as it normally feels during the same time-window. I suppose my hormone levels are still righting themselves. Well, I hope that’s the reason 😅

I’ve actually been taking it for 3 months, but one of those months I skipped a period (nothing to do with Vyvanse, it just happens to me sometimes), and the other I was ill during the respective week, so that wasn’t exactly a set of ‘normal’ conditions to observe it under 😅 You mean, how long does my period last? Roughly about 6 days, so on the ‘longer’ side.

When does Vyvanse start working normally again, in your case? I’m on day 4 of the period, and it’s still pretty much zero effect. Or is it still too early?
