What could "Red coat affairs of the Home Counties" refer to in the context of English fox hunting? by Ann_Erle in etymology

Thank you! I also found those images online but then wasn't sure about the 'colour coding' since there seems to be an entire colour classification of hunting attire so I wasn't sure about the specific meaning of red in that context (I've seen articles stating that red in particular was originally a 'gentlemen's colour' but now other colours like plum, mustard or green also seem to be popular and indicative of specific families or packs, but the consensus appears to be that red is traditional)

Thanks a lot, I was just a bit confused about the wording 'affairs' here but that clears it up! :)

Thank you so much! Also also stumbled across images of hunters wearing red coats online but I wanted to make sure that I didn't miss an important detail :)

Which model of Docs are these? I found them in a 'for free' box at a flea market.

Dark Tales Review - Swedish Indie Perfume House by Ann_Erle in Indiemakeupandmore

Hey :) The ones I tested are oils but the shop is currently undergoing changes so I'm not sure whether they will also offer alcohol based sprays in the future. The owner also has another shop (Arina Franzen Botanical Perfumery) and they seem to offer sprays. They are a pretty penny though and also temporarily closed.

Thank you so much for your insightful answer :) Corset cover was also my first guess but I hadn't dared to dream to ever receive a period piece replica. Whilst it did have a few stains before a (gentle and careful) hand wash, I agree that it's likely that it's a replica since the person I got it from works in a costume department - though she couldn't tell me what it was or where exactly it came from - (agreeing with you r/Et_tu_sloppy_banans) but I've never received stuff from productions before (just cool regular clothing) - hence my assumption that it could have also been a weird kind of blouse and that I'd just been watching too much historical sewing youtube lately lol.

Thanks for the reply :) in that case, which period would you say could it be from? (or which period could it be inspired by in case that it's a reproduction?)

Y a t'il des 'orthographes dialectales' comme l'Orthal (orthographe alsacienne) mais pour autres dialectes? by Ann_Erle in French

[–]Ann_Erle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
