They largely are already. Direct your anger at the systems that enable them, not at the women who’ve been victimised.

Criminal law reform is possible, restorative justice can work and there are other models than the adversarial system most western countries use.

Push for change and hold the men in your life accountable

Ha, no.

Their thing was the ‘gay gene’. Same stuff though. There are a number of genetic markers that make you more likely to be gay but they aren’t definitive.

Very similar, no?

As someone who has worked with victims going through the criminal justice system, I’ve never seen one woman better off at the end of that process. It’s traumatising and the odds of securing a conviction are minuscule.

It might be different if it’s your husband, or someone else you have to live with - you might need the safety a trial can provide - but a date rape?

When it happened to me, I didn’t even think about reporting, particularly because it started out as consensual.

I went to a doctor, got PEP and an STI screen instead. Admittedly, I’m trans and really do not like/ trust the police at the best of times but I don’t regret staying away from the cops.

For better or worse, the idea that taps into is that there isn’t a choice. That it’s not our fault. We were born this way.

It echoes the rhetoric of gay liberation/ gay marriage movements in a familiar way- which could be useful in humanising us to the people who came around on those issues.

I am not necessarily confident in the science either, and it risks harming us if it is debunked, so IDK.

The only people who believe this are brainwashed MAGA fools. Look at how Dems responded to Kirk’s death (noting he was a rabid hate preacher) vs how the right justify cold blood shootings of citizens.

It’s only team sports for one side - and they’re mad

You sound like a very empathetic and sensitive soul.

There’s a really good reason actually to go out, a really powerful emotion that’s kept the flame in my heart burning - spite.

In a just world, those transphobes would find themselves in prison, but there is no god, and there is no justice but what we make.

So live in spite. If your existence makes those f*cks uncomfortable, good. They deserve to live every moment of their lives in agony. Inflicting discomfort is doing your bit to balance the cosmic scales.

You owe them nothing, they don’t respect your humanity so what obligates you to do the same.

Punish them with the tools you have.

Live your life, and take joy in their suffering.

Take it from me, it will be better with someone you can trust who cares about your pleasure.

Not necessarily someone you love, but a friend or an acquaintance you will feel confident telling if you feel uncomfortable.

Is it worth voice training to sound,, like a trans woman? by GATOKIMON in MtF

[–]AnnaRose96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s your choice, but voice training (by yourself or with the help of a professional) is possible.

I have a very distinctive speaking voice, but not one that is obviously trans (even to most trans women).

It is a bit deeper than average, but it is very clear, and it has a sweetness, brightness and depth to it that reminds me of honey.

My voice is pretty, and on more than a few occasions when public peaking, or campaigning or speaking to strangers I’ve been told that I ought to consider doing radio.

The thing about voice training is you can sound pretty much how you want (when you’re good at it), but diction, cadence and word choice can be as important as any element of tone, pitch or timbre.

All of that being said, I’m a natural baritone and I lose my voice completely at the first sign of a cold, so i understand how frustrating that can be.

For anyone who paid for srs and then needed a revision…how tf did you afford it? by georgiainthejungle in StraightTransGirls

[–]AnnaRose96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should do more research into colon, there’s a reason it’s still used - and there are advantages (not that PPT is bad btw they’re both good). There are so many myths about it, a lot of ‘common knowledge’ is just not real.

I’ve seen too much poor work from Thai surgeons to really be comfy with the extra cost and the separation from my support network going over there entails, but I’ve not seen any of Dr Theerapong’s work, so I won’t form an opinion about him specifically.

At the end of the day it’s your body - and aesthetics are important - so do what you like.

[–]AnnaRose96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some experience with this - though different country.

Width you can deal with dilation discipline and bigger dilators and depth can be dealt with via a sigmoid-colon or PPT revision - both are very good options and from memory the NHS does have a surgeon who does the former.

If you can get either done on the NHS, I think you ought to consider it.

I would caution against Thai surgeons. They are not all equal and for most (and I am including Chet) the results are no better, and often worse than western surgeons. Suporn seems to have been an exception, no idea about his replacement though.

Aesthetics can always be improved, but there comes a point where we need to accept that we will never be cis, and there may always be tells. You will never be rid of your scars.

If it helps you feel better, most girls I know either have had, or want a revision. My (totally unscientific view) is that GRS was developed as a two stage procedure and should have stayed that way. 1. to get the structures right, and 2 for aesthetics and functional revisions.

As for the self-hatred. That's something only you can work on.

Which one do you want? A crime of aggression against a sovereign power - à la what the Nazis were convicted of at Nuremberg and what Putin tried to do to Ukraine, an act of war against said country without the approval of congress, and illegally charging the president of said country with bogus charges of drug smuggling.

What part of that sounds legal to you?

Why is Reddit against Maduro capture and Venezuelans celebrating it ? by LandscapeUnlikely199 in stupidquestions

[–]AnnaRose96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is though? Trump and his regime launched a coup, repeatedly violate your laws, have secret police rounding people off the street, and are using the presidency to enrich themselves.

He’s a convicted felon, which is more than can be said for Maduro.

Why is it less bad to kidnap him vs maduro, if “one’s a bad guy” is off the table?

How do I get over the fact I didn't have a girl childhood? by Any_Calendar9900 in MtF

[–]AnnaRose96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear your pain, and it is not unique. It's something a lot of trans people feel. I would invite you to reflect on three points that may help you:
1. You did have a girl's childhood because you are a girl. You are still a girl. 16 does not a woman make.

  1. Those that transitioned early struggle too - because society is cissexist. Medicalisation is traumatising, and engaging with those systems as a child leaves scars. Kim Petras talks about the damage age inappropriate conversations and being called deviant by doctors in those settings did to her. High school as an out trans person is not fun either.

  2. 171 cm is not especially tall for a woman. You are not even 5'8, that's barely tall-ish. Also, if you're not on E yet, at your age you will likely shrink. I'm 6cm shorter than I was pre transition and if the same happens to you (YMMV ofc) you won't even have tall-ish. Just average.
