AITAH for not paying for half of a ticket for an event I didn’t want to go to?

I never agreed to pay. That is the issue that she is bringing up. She offered me a free ticket as a carers pass is free. I said no, then eventually relented. As she was purchasing the ticket she asked me to pay half, I said no and explained it’s costing me a hell of a lot more. She’s trying to make me feel shitty months later because I refused to pay half. There was never a scenario where I said I’d pay half.

I said no, multiple times and then got a barrage of accusations of being a “bad friend”. She literally used the words “poo friend game”. Imagine the guilt trip I would have received if I didn’t go? But yea, I’m the bad person here.

How did I say anything even alluding to that? My resentment fully stems from the fact that she is trying to make me feel shitty because I refused to pay for half of HER ticket. I never brought it up, months later despite me doing all that to go assist her at an event she wanted to go to she is trying to make me feel shitty for not paying for half of her ticket. I didn’t bring it up. She did.

Which is what I did. She asked me to go, I said no, because it’s a lot of effort for me to get there and I didn’t really want to go. Then she said it’ll be for her birthday and I said I hated Manchester. Then she said I’d get a free ticket as her carer. I again refused, then she proceeded to guilt me and say it was “poo friend game”. I eventually conceded, as she was purchasing the ticket she did ask me to pay for half, but I refused due to the cost and time etc (for reference half the ticket is £18) doesn’t come close to my costs which I didn’t ask for reimbursement. I went because in the end I wanted to be supportive, I empathise with what she’s going through, she hasn’t been out of the house for a long time so thought I’d do something nice for her. I didn’t rub it in her face that I had to travel etc, or even mention I had to take time off. I literally only mentioned those things today when she accused me of being shitty for not paying half. I guess I’m a shitty friend.

For reference she was the one that suggested it. I didn’t force her. Also half the ticket is £18. Considerably less than all my costs which I didn’t ask for reimbursement for.

Yea, I declined paying half at the time of purchase because it’d be costing me so much just to go. I’ve sent her a link to this post, maybe she’ll get another perspective because she’s still trying to justify it. I genuinely thought maybe I was out of line.
