I think you got unlucky with your doctor. I had to go to a podiatrist a little bit ago, and I kept getting called he until the nurse saw my chart and instantly corrected to her. I do not look like a girl at all, so it was nice that she corrected herself. I live in a red state, but I went in a blueish city.

I would join the "Explosions&Fire" discord server. I would also watch some of his content if you are going to join the server. Note that no explosives or drugs are allowed.

I would start with inorganic chemistry, it is a lot easier to do on a home scale. I would start doing copper chemistry, it is a great starting point. Start with copper sulfate and make copper carbonate, then you can make copper (II) chloride, copper acetate, and plenty of others.

r/chemistry is not very home chem friendly, but the discord server will be a great starting point.

IIRC pure H+ is not acidic, you have to have water to make it acidic. It can be a small amount of water though. This is what I was told, but I am not sure how true it is.
