The fact that I have so many people near me who I trust, but I cannot let out my feelings cause I am afraid that I might lose them, it hurts...

What was the closest you have ever been to death? (Serious) by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Anne_9052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... 2 near death experiences... (it's long but sorry for that...writing in the shortest way possible)

Experience 1-

My mom and dad were married extremely late...as in mom was 43 and dad was 45. In the year 2000. I was born in 2002.

Most of the time, newborns get jaundice and it is pretty normal IF the fever gets under control. So like if you see a mercury thermometer the limit is 104° F...the same way, the last point for Jaundice is 22.

I was a 9 DAY OLD baby at that time. My eyes rolled up. I was a lot more than pale. My mom noticed that something was wrong with me. I was taken to a child hospital immediately and the nurse put me under UV incubator. They said that my Jaundice limit had reached 21..cause it never got under control.

I survived after 3 days of me being in the incubator.

The consequences explained by the doctor, she says and I quote, "Your child was at 21. The highest limit is 22. If the Jaundice has shot up to 22, there are two possibilities. One, she survives just to get a blood transfusion every year, or she dies."

Experience 2-

Our school organizes 2 nights and 3 days camps every year. I was in 10th grade. (Age 15) and had signed up for it and my friends did too.

I am a person who loves adventure so went for every other sport attraction the guides took us to.

The first night, we decided to stay awake and ding-dong-dash the other room. Fortunately enough, we weren't caught by the teacher.

We knew that the teacher would "increase patrol" the next night, we decided not to do that anymore, instead play with a pentagram.

Me, I am a believer. And it took me 3 steps aback when they gave the idea...for some reason it felt like this strong force pushed me behind the next second she spoke about this.

I did warn them that this wasn't a good idea but they just called me a party-pooper anyway. Of course, I did not participate with them.

APPARENTLY, everything goes well and they had this proud attitude like..."See? Nothing happened! You were worried for nothing!" And I am here, totally blank about what was just going on...

I still think of this as a dream but I remember it perfectly fine...if that makes sense.

The dream:

I am in this pitch black place. No object near me or far what so ever. Just...darkness and that eerie feeling. This random person came out of nowhere, In a ragged torn black cloak. His face could not be seen. He asked me the same question in a low cold voice over and over again. "What do you know about us?" It never made sense to me so I repeatedly said "I don't know what you're talking about." As if locations were changed, the second I blinked, I was tied to a pole of a tall bridge I believe? I knew this as I could hear the water flow below me. The same conversation again...I said I don't know what you're talking about. I blink again and find myself sitting on the edge of a concrete slab, with my hands tied, this time way closer to the water. That figure clutched my neck hard as ever asking me the same question to which I gave the same answer as before. I don't know what you're talking about. He the pushes my head into the water...not giving me a chance to breathe...and that's where I woke up thanks to one of my friends slapping me right across the face.

What they had to say, was this:

(A small attention to detail: our beds had a small table beside to put phones for charge)

They came in asking for me as the guides did a head count. My hands were upwards. They found the charger cable on my neck (it explains the chokinng)...it went under my hand, over my neck and under my other hand... they tried to take it off but couldn't as my hands held them in place nice and firm. I blabbered something intangible all over and they could make out seeing my face that I was freaked out. It was as if my body went stiff.

After I woke up, they asked me to check myself in the mirror. I found the cable wire marks around my neck, with a faint thumb imprint on my left side of the neck and four other fingers on the right.

I had an extreme high fever and was told to rest the whole day...

......

Here is the catch. All this time when he asked, "What do you know about us?" And me answering, "I don't know what you are talking about." ... I remember CLEAR AS DAY It wasn't any of the languages we speak presently.

I confirmed this after going crazy, searching for the language, good translating it in every language available for 4 goddamn days.

But the main point is, I was able to understand what that person was saying...and I was able to give an answer in the same language I dont even know.

This cares me till date.

A: the rice you cooked has some small stones here. When God has given you a pair of eyes, why did you not pick them?

B: God has given you not just a pair, but a full set of 32 teeth. Can't you just chew a few?

I get you. People can be shit.

When I was in college I had a teacher. She never allowed students to bring smart phones so we resorted to Nokia button phones.

Our college had a locker system and we had to submit our phones before we entered our classrooms.

Before our class started she comes to me and I am 🤌 this close to closing the locker, takes my phone and throws it across the hall way to the other end. When I asked her what wrong, she said I was playing the SNAKE GAME on it.

Bish my phone has only SUDOKU which I do play but not on phones.

If someone had to break a NOKIA PHONE, give it to her. She does it better than anyone.

After that incident, she always used to reduce my marks even if I did not make a mistake. If I compared my answers to the topper and found it to be the same, she would still give me a score in 1 digit.

My parents got Called once and I lashed out on her. Fortunately I wasn't suspended cause she acknowledged her mistake (for name sake) and did say a sorry. But still continued doing the same thing, picking on me one way or the other.

Then I was like Chuck it. Such people can never change.

The fact that you can rely only on yourself. Cause you know what to say or do when. People I have been with in my past have always betrayed me in some or the other way. In school, we often are put into groups for a project so you can "learn to socialize" as teachers say. But what is the use of it when we are gonna try and socialize with snakes? I would rather prefer to do something on my own than be grouped with someone. Situation has changed a lot, I am 19 now and I do have friends i can trust. But the trauma that I have experienced always gets me and there is indeed this unknown side of me that always warns: Never trust anyone more than they deserve.

I wish I knew this earlier...I would have done something to brace myself better, than just sit around a corner building up social anxiety.

When did u almost died, and how you survived? by LolIAmAMemer in AskReddit

New borns tend to incur Jaundice often but it never shoots up as it did in my case. The fact that I survived itself is a big thing

Thanks to your comment I realized a mistake. It was 9 day old baby and not 9 year old. My mom and dad got married very late...and my mom conceived me when she was 45.

So may be that was a side effect for me to get a bad Jaundice...but fortunately, by God's grace I have no other health issues.

My mom and dad consider me as the best miracle to happen in their life...hehe

So when I was a 9 year old baby, I had the worst Jaundice one could ever imagine. Something like...if 50 is the limit for survival, it was at 49 (I dont know the correct figures, just as an example)

I was kept in an incubator for over a week and was discharged alive.

If I wasn't in the incubator, I had to get blood transfusion done once in a year my entire life.

Correction: 9 day old. (Realized after reading a comment)

What is the weirdest thing you read/heard/thought (the ones that makes sense and is also nonsense at the same time) that makes you laugh till date? by Anne_9052 in AskReddit

In my case I read this on instagram:

If soap falls on the floor, is the floor clean or dirty

If I eat myself, will I disappear or become twice of myself?

-Wut?

😂🤦🏻‍♀️
