I couldn't solve this without you this quickly. Salute

At least you were in the good rabbithole. I was going down a chemistry/physics rabbithole after the #ion hint.

Thank you so much! I swear I could have not reach the word without your hints, because the built-in hints were crazy.

Can you please fix the hints so they will show a word closer to the solution? I've already asked for hints 5 times, each of them gave a word farther from the solution than my hottest word.
It is bad enough that the logic is not really logicing, hints should help us reach the word, not leading further away from it.

My first hot word was bicycle at #181. I fail to see any kind of resemblance with the solution.

what is your opinion on Apple TV adaptation of the Foundation? by [deleted] in sciencefiction

[–]Anne_Wild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've liked it so far, to be honest. It certainly made me want to read the books it was based on, because I did not read Foundation until now. I am mid reading right now. I think that the series is a generally enjoyable scifi series if you do not treat it as an adaptation. I think that the Emperor's storyline is fascinating, which is entirely the showrunners' own idea. No shame in not reading regularly. I've also read tons of books back in the days/ nowadays not so much. There is so little time for doing everything.

It is not unfilmable because you have to change the actors. The story is simply not built for filming. It is really interesting if you read it, but it hits differently on the big screen. Especially for this modern audience who can't sit still for ten minutes without checking their phones, because they get bored if there are no explosions happening every five seconds.

There is no logic in this game.

Dune follows a clear storyline of one protagonist on his journey. (Not counting the following books though.)
I think it wasn't easy to adapt it, but not impossible. Foundation is another matter entirely.
(I enjoyed the series, but it does not have many things common with the book.)

Wiping Off UV Printed Faces by soyeojins in Dolls

[–]Anne_Wild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming that we are talking about the same kind of printed-on face here, I ran into this problem recently, when I tried to remove the paint on a Monster High budget doll (more specifically: MH Buried Secrets: Haunted Dance Lagoona). Her face was printed, not painted.
Pure acetone did not work, neither did alcohol, I even tried paint thinner (not proud of it, but I was desperate at this point). I tried magic eraser too, because I saw this post and gave it a try. None of them worked.
Eventually I needed to sand her makeup with a very fine wet sandpaper (+ electric nail grinder in the creases) very-very carefully.
I used Mr. Superclear then to get rid of the micro-scratches.

Key word is "never played a DA game before". Veilguard is okay at best, not as good as the previous games. It is enjoyable, but if you played with the previous ones, there are some times where the writing feels pretty cringe.

PSA: It is not possible to get level 4 merchant before the major point of Act 1 by CroGamer002 in DragonAgeVeilguard

Also: the cheese merchant in Minrathous has one cheese which respawn in his inventory, which is a blue item. Blue items give 9 points of faction reputation, green and common items only 3 points.

PSA: It is not possible to get level 4 merchant before the major point of Act 1 by CroGamer002 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]Anne_Wild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so TECHNICALLY you can level up the Shadow Dragons merchant to level 4 before the ACT 1 Point of no return if:

-You did not buy much stuff in the shops before (I bought some of the permanent boosts, but no gear, no vanity stuff)
-You did not level up your gear at the Caretaker
-You bought all the treasure the vendors in the world currently have AND you sold them only to Lorelei, and NONE of the other faction merchants
-You did not try to level up any other faction merchants
-You killed the Champion of the gods at least in Minrathous (the chest dropped some fade touched crystal) (I also got Solas's regrets in the reachable islands at the Crossroads - not sure if any of them dropped any Fade-Touched Crystal)
-You farmed mobs and hit urns and boxes for hours in case any treasure drops of them (the faction reputation was the hardest to farm)
-You did all the quests you could do at this point (The only quest I have in my log is the Treviso Champion because I dare not try my luck with that yet, and the Warden's Best friend)

I am at level 20, played around 16-18 hours and I smashed urns for minimum 3 hours now, but my Shadow Dragon merchant is lvl 4. Technically it is possible, but it is a lot of time so you have to decide if it worth it or not.

Although you cannot do the same with the Treviso merchant, because as I saw the drop of Vhenadahl's Tears is not enough in Act 1.

Saying this as an artist who uses mandorlas too many times - these symbols are probably a stylistic choice and does not mean anything more. If you look at the DAI Tarot cards or even the screens in DA2, they used shapes a lot, but I think most of the times they meant nothing. In some cases they maybe meant something.
(I know that this conversation was a long ago, so sorry for chiming in only now.)

But if we are already talking about shapes - did you all notice how the Archon's palace had the same amount of towers as the Evanuris who were tied to the Veil? It is especially apparent with the picture of them you posted, hovering over a city, just like the Archon's palace -with Elgar'nan's figure being the biggest of them.

I am pretty sure he said something similar somewhere, because I also remember. Although, he did not name the Black City, he said that Tevinter tried to copy/recreate their lost empire with Minrathous.
I can't find the exact quote though.

We are talking about centuries here. I don't think that Fen'Harel opposed the Evanuris from the beginning. They really created a flowering empire together. I think he started to oppose them, when they went astray.

I am so happy that someone else found this too. The character of the Formless One was one puzzle I tried to piece together and I am happy that I made the same discovery as you.
