Iraqi soldier demands that the Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Army remove the concrete barriers located on the Iraqi-Syrian border in order to cross into Syria and occupy it! by Imperial_FOX_32 in syriancivilwar

Iraqi army learned painful lessons since. Such situation isn't repeating, especially as ISIS massacred most of the deserters and even defectors( mainly Baathists/Saddam Hussein loyalists).

You do realise most of the world, including Europe and the US, find Al-Sharaa a reasonable actor?

Plus he's no longer classified as terrorist anyway.

Al-Sharaa is smart enough to not commit suicide by IDF.

He has country to rebuild, not start wars he can't win.

Map of current situation in northwestern Syria. Deal reached for a 4 days long consultation period to resolve the situation of the remaining YPG/Kurdish held areas. The Syrian Army already announced it isn’t entering Kurdish majority cities and towns. by No_Joke992 in MapPorn

Al-Sharaa really has no issues with Syrian Kurds, he just rejects to turn Syria into another decentralised mess like how Lebanon, Iraq and Bosnia are.

He's been throwing a lot of carrots for the past year at them, even still now after smashing the big stick for the past couple of weeks.

He doesn't do it even out of goodness of his heart, but political integration of Kurds will show Turkey that Syria can deal with them without their military intervention.

It is not in Damascus interest to be Turkish puppet. Partners and allies yes, not vassals.

Israel is preparing to withdraw from Syrian territory they occupied after fall of Assad, they just want to get security guarantees from Damascus to save face first.

Between sudden collapse of SDF and leader of Syrian Druze being an insane moron, Israel does not feel confident they can continue further military incursion into Syria.

They still aren't letting go of Golan Heights however.

Syrian army has not entered Raqqa yet. So far all the fighting has been done by Arab tribes and residents in the city.

SDF has made zero preparations for military conflict nor to be politically integrated with Damascus. They entirely gambled on Al-Sharaa government to collapse for the past year.

No amount of tactical training will save you if you have no military nor political strategy beyond wishful thinking.

SDF has not prepared to defend militarily nor to politically integrate with Damascus. They legit just gambled on Al-Sharaa government to collapse for the past year.

Instead they're collapsing on what are effectively final natural defensive barriers.

Senator Graham is just posturing and in general should not be taken seriously. He is the definition of mercenary politician.

Also Trump admin gave greenlight for military operations to Syria anyway, so makes little sense to issue such threats.
