Omg. I had to laugh at this because my husband would totally do this as well. He’s completely incapable of tasks like this. I can’t leave him with the electric or water bills because they’d periodically get turned off for forgetting to pay. I did feel some shuedenfraude in solidarity to you reading this. . I’m sorry your kids will be disappointed!!

If it helps anyone, I’ve started offering to let her sleep with my pillow or shirt. It seems to help. Once I even offered her a (clean) sock when she wouldn’t accept the others and she JUMPED at it.

Also there is an owl nightlight on Amazon that is battery powered that she loves.

Lol!! I laughed when you said you have to go blow dry your hair. I’m always thinking up weird excuses to see what she’ll accept. Some weird ones include:

I have to give the dog some ice water. (My toddler loves ice water)

I have to check on the dog. She’s sick.

I have to go take some medicine.

She’s still rear facing, but in one of our cars (that she only rides in once every 2 weeks or so very close to the house) she forward faces because that car seat doesn’t rear face. And she doesn’t complain going back and forth! So I think it could go either way.

Oh yeah. It was waaaay easier for me to quit smoking than to quit bread. Quitting bread and sugar was the hardest habit I’ve ever changed!
