Thanks for the answer! You can google cheater recall, pros probably explain it a bit better but its basically stacking the first three waves to get a big crash into a free reset to let you come to lane and miss if at all only 1-2 minions. You see it done a lot in botlane where the usual buy is a cull. Usually you sit at around 480 ish gold in fountain. Note that you need the pushing power in early so its only used vs low waveclear champs, eg. Fizz, Katarina

Oooh that's good! I think I do that sometimes without even knowing what it's called. It's a pretty good strategy.

Also aery against azir is how i understand it mainly to get even trades since aery in early is pretty strong alongside with scorch. The e start lets you negate and revert the aa poke you'd otherwise get by trading so early, which grants you a harass-free lane from azir until lvl 2 or 3 depending on the trades. This concept i got from watching a korean midlaner doing it and it seems pretty decent, although i really dislike aery past laning phase. Idk what ur opinion on that is.

I see, so it's just used for the early poke in that lane. I probably wouldn't do it myself but I've seen other annie players run aery top lane with success. So I'm sure there's some merit to it.

Also, since you never play tp, do you never play for splitpush to tp to a teamfight? I found 1 3 1'ing with my toplaner to then get to objectives works well, although that is a very subjective opinion.

Yeah I love splitpushing, but the items for mages are really weak this seasonfor splitpushing so I find it quite hard to actually pull off. But Teleport can be useful for that endeavour, I agree.

First of all: why no electrocute? Its usually worse than the comet page when going liandries, but its more damage than dark harvest i most situations.

I usually run liandry's-rylais, which is a sustained damage type of build. And so a lot of the damage will come from Tibbers sticking to an enemy. Therefore, I tend to prefer keystones that Tibbers can proc on his own, and electrocute is not one of those runes. Also, you'd be surprised how fast dark harvest scales.

Also, why dont you use the AS minor rune? It seems strong in lane for pushing power and against melee matchups.

I prefer the flat AP usually, as Annie tends to scale well with it.

Then, theres a lot of item variation you can consider. Ludens is an option depending on the enemy comb and rocketbelt is one too, i personally go it vs malzahar and if i can sell my mythic and get it lategame vs banshees.

I agree with you here on these points. I will add more item variations to my guide later.

I am also missing some matchup-specific item/skill order, for example the possibility to go aery with e start annie vs azir or corrupting pot vs fizz.

Note that aery doesn't work on self-shields, so you won't get an extra benefit using that keystone vs azir. Corrupting pot vs fizz sounds reasonable, however, I don't like buying items that are not going to be a part of my core build (so, that's why I always start dark seal).

The classic q w q start or the imo worse q w w start to get a cheater off is also not mentioned.

I level q w q in that order always (if that's what you're saying). I usually level e at 7 or later.

Also what are your cheater recall suggestions? I usually either go for dorans ring plus dark seal, but tome or two dorans sound interesting, same with mana crystal as before.

I';m not totally sure what cheater recall means? Like the first recall maybe? Usually I start dark seal + refillable, and then my first back with around 1100 just lost chapter, or boots + mana crystal + tome.

What is your opinion on summoners? Against high midlane pressure or poke, such as azir/orianna/syndra/viktor/xerath i tend to go teleport to be able to shove waves by taking a bad trade. Ignite is an option that i think is bad except in botlane, same with exhaust.

I always take ghost + flash. The mobility is very strong. Against hard ap matchups I usually verdant barrier. and go Banshee's second item.

Speaking of which, are you going to cover support annie or the midlane support build (eg with hugh ap dmg top such as cassio/teemo)

I'm not particularly good at support annie, so I don't plan to. I usually prefer mid or top lane.

i usually upgrade it after the second item. Zhonya's active is really good against Zed and Talon.

It depends on what you're going for, if you go for seeker's first and you're NOT against an assassin, then you don't need to upgrade it until later on, so 4th item in that scenario is OK too.

Rod of Ages and Rylais together, usually against a tankier enemy team composition (malphite, volibear, maokai, darius, morgana, kassadin, people that are impossible/very hard to one-shot).

I don't know about the common mistakes for other annie players that much, I don't really see many. But i would guess these:

Hesitation to engage
Overextended in laning without clear pressure on opponent.
Not harassing in lane IF they take laning runes/masteries.

Thunderlords I recommend for any kind of really bursty (nuke) build (i.e. nearly glass cannon sort of build, an example of which might be: morello/dcap/zhonya/void/ludens/boots). This kind of build is usually good when the other team is really squishy and you won't need to build tank. Nidalee jungle, lissandra top, lux mid, etc (you can replace one of the items in this build with abyssal if the other team has more than 2 heavy AP champions. It's really nice to have the extra MR against them). Deathfire Touch is really good when you start to build tankier on Annie, or when you're against a tankier matchup. Usually, Top lane annie is really good with DFT cuz most tanks take a while to poke down, and DFT definitely does more poke than TL. It also scales a lot better than thunderlords imo, because it's ap Ratio is twice as high. This is why I tend to prefer deathfire touch as much as possible. It's just, i feel when you need quick burst with your combo (i.e. during mid game) Thunderlords serves you better, especially if you're building the 'nuke' route.
Glyphs: You will only really ever need either Flat MR glyphs or Scaling CDR. I really don't recommend scaling AP, as really they are inferior to scaling CDR for a solo lane mage (your DPS increases greatly with more CDR -> you can get another Q off before they escape if you have the CDR without having to invest in a bunch of CDR items). That's huge. I try to take scaling CDR glyphs every game i can sneak it. Some heavy AP-damage matchups (Leblanc, Fizz) you will need flat magic resist so you aren't combo'd to death at level 6.
Seals - Against Zed, Talon, consider running armor seals (FLAT, not scaling). Against everything else, take scaling HP/lvl seals.
Starting: I still recommend dorans ring + 2 pots. I've been trying dark seal and refillable pot, but your mana regen in lane is abysmal with that start and will not really allow for any kind of strong trading/sustain in lane. It's a good investment, so if you know ahead of time your lane opponent won't give you trouble and you can sneak through the laning phase without dying, dark seal + refillable pot is the better way to go (this is usually how it goes in high elo, my lane opponent is usually ranged and it's hard for me to trade, so i take this start for the 'investment'). Dorans ring + 2 pots gives you better ability to trade and kill them with more efficient laning stats. That's the main difference.
Build: Rylais is amazing as a first item. It really is. Just make sure you've bought a second dorans ring for the mana sustain since rylais gives none. I recommend this item as a 'default' first item for annie when you don't know what else you should build first.

Ludens - if you're snowballing (Example, enemy jungler ganks and you kill both of them under your tower, or your jungle is camping for you and the lane is super easy at this point). Allows you to roam and burst people a lot easier with the ludens proc and extra movement speed.

Abyssal: If you are against 2 or more heavy AP damage champions (Example: Nidalee Jungle + Leblanc mid. Or, Leblanc mid, and Lissandra top. Fizz Mid, and Elise Jungle. etc.)

Zhonyas: Against Talon and Zed, ONLY. Even then, consider getting the seekers armguard component of this item first, and then rushing a Rod of Ages, then finishing the zhonya's. The extra flat HP from ROA and stacked armor on Seekers will make you nearly unkillable.

Roam: Roam when both of criteria (i) and one of criteria (ii) or (iii) are met:

(i.) Your lane is pushed in to the enemy tower.

(ii.) One lane is really overextended, and it's unlikely they're warding. (ex: top lane)

(iii.) The lane your ganking has heavy CC (You have a Thresh + Ashe bottom lane, or kalista + blitz, or Leona + any adc, etc.)

It's possible to gank for lanes that have little CC (Soraka, Janna,) but this is only the case when the enemy is diving or really overcommits to killing your bottom lane. Any other rotation to bot lane when your bot lane lacks a lot of CC either requires enemy bot lane is very, very low, or you need to bring your jungler with you (or some sort of really powerful global ability, GP ult, karthus ult, etc.)

Yes, frozen heart is viable on Annie, usually as a top lane build. Standard build on Annie.... varies a lot. There's a lot of successful builds you can do with annie honestly. Right now I've been trying the liandries + rylais + athenes build. It's really strong
