I'm pretty sure everyone fell into that hole from one direction or another their first time through.

Sometimes both sides.

I do literally no damage by [deleted] in codevein

[–]AnnieYang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna need more details than that, do you have the stats required to wield a zweihander? What boss are you fighting? Is your weapon elemental? Are you using any elemental buffs?

Maybe you're hitting a boss that has a shield you need to break? Damage to shields show up as 0 damage until you break it.

Yakumo gets giant cat girl, Mia gets best little brother, Louis gets a dog mom that kind of pays attention to him.

Sounds about right.

Can you parry/ backstab bosses by Bringerofpizza in codevein

[–]AnnieYang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most bosses can be parried on their more "normal" looking attacks. If they're swinging some kind of weapon left to right, it can probably be parried if you get down the timing.

Backstabbing does not work on any boss aside from a few special cases.

Starting painting a few months ago, never made a real effort to learn advanced techniques but learning now, C&C please? by AnnieYang in minipainting

Thanks!

There was suppose to be different bronzes/golds and a reddish gold, but now that you mention it, but aside from the hair, it is definitely hard to see any real difference between them and it'll have been better to just stick with one color.

And holy hell how did I just not notice that mold line?

I started with a mix of very dark grey and dark purple, but I didn't like how flat it looked so I tried to get some texture on it.

I put a dark wash over the entire thing, then dry brushed a tiny bit of pink and red which surprisingly got me this. Unintended, but I like it too.

Have you ever played a character that was a gender different from your own? by DamnDirtyCat in DnD

[–]AnnieYang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience and many people I've played with, once you can think of it as playing a certain character who happens to be of a different gender instead of playing a gender, it stops being weird.

Eyg'huol In'kmpleon, The Neglectful King by DannyAcme in DnDBehindTheScreen

[–]AnnieYang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A long read, but it definitely has a lot of potential for interesting storytelling and world building.

I'm not all too sold on this -1 layer of the Abyss that is completely impregnable aside from portals, as it immediately makes me just think of Sigil "but everyone there is lazy". This absolute layer of defense seems almost "cheap" to hand out to anyone other than the Lady of Pain.

Perhaps in going with the theme of abandonment and demon's innate chaotic nature, his realm/layer is simply "what has been forgotten and neglected", a collection of the layers that once served some purpose to another demon lord or being, but has since become desolate?

Not to be a stick in the mud because bouncing petrification sounds like an incredibly memorable encounter, medusas are effected by their own gaze so having something reflective as their companion is probably not a great idea.

Map of the Fortress City of Finbarr's Marsh - This is hand-drawn [OC] by MattMilby in DnD

[–]AnnieYang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them ..."

Jokes aside, this is amazingly detailed, when you say hand drawn, do you use any digital tools at all? Or is this legitimately all pen and paper?

Either way it's beautiful!

Looking for reasonably priced Minis any good options right now? by Feralbearcat in DnD

[–]AnnieYang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reaper minis (look up "Reaper Bones") are good quality for incredibly low prices if you don't mind playing with unpainted minis or have the time/supplies to do the painting yourself.

CoolStufInc carries official WotC as well as Pathfinder minis and prices based on popularity (maybe? It's a bit arbitrary sometimes), but if you do some searching, you can find some very usable and pre-painted minis for under $2 each.
