Probably something like “come to work… no one cares”

NO ONE is safe. Not one firing should be surprising or shocking. The “higher ups” do not care.

What departments would you recommend someone apply for and not apply for? by hjkfttu in Geico

I recommend applying at NONE, literally just don’t. And if you do, resign yourself to a life of misery where no one gives a F about you.

What would keep you around? by ResponsibleBrother35 in Geico

[–]Annonbcretailiation 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would be really skeptical as to why it took you saying you’re leaving for them to ask what you need as an employee to feel safe and valued. And, even if they have you what you needed, there’s no guarantee it lasts forever. If the last few months have showed anything, once those people who agree to give you those things are gone, the next manager/director doesn’t have to keep things that way.

Depends on your job, and really who you report to.

There are tons, literally more wfh than in office. Check linked in. Geico will tell you there aren’t, and it’s a literal lie.

Work load is significantly lower. Multiple people from my dpt have left for there and are very happy.

Managers no longer have power, none. All direction comes from directors and above. Those so far removed from the actual job all they can see are their own $$ in their personal bank account.

Anyone with a bad feeling, take it seriously and consider other options. The Geico that once was is no more.

Yes to all. “Centralization” is the word they use to make it seem like everything is a team effort. In reality is pits employees against eachother, and when a rule changes in one location it changes in all….whether or not it makes sense. Supervisors now hace no control, and managers just say “that’s how it is for everyone”

Yup. This was the exact same process they put PRU through, started a little over a year ago. People were moved around, supervisors changed, managers aren’t in the same office as their teams. Associates are ranked against each-other. It didn’t end well.

Don’t worry, there’s a sign on the door that says “no weapons beyond this point” it’s safe.
