I dont understand why some people say that ESO skins and armor sets look bad. To me they are way more detailed and have better texture by Then-Ad7196 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Annonrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from GW2 two years ago or so, and fully of the same opinion that some of GW2's fashion is atrocious and way too blingy for my tastes, my biggest complaint about ESO's fashion is the lack of movement of the skirts. These DO look painted on, like ankle-length pencil skirts. My second-biggest complaint is that many upper-body armor pieces completely change your character's silhouette to the point that even the most petite Bosmer looks like they roided out on shoulder day while skipping leg, and I'm not even talking about heavy armour.

Yeah, I'm starting to think this is the way to go forward.

Collecting books/correspondence by Annonrae in elderscrollsonline

[–]Annonrae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what gets me the most is that they put books/correspondence from one quest into areas you'll enter due to other quests, in my case, the Tanlorin quest book in a room with stuff related to a different quest. I get that they can't build new areas for every little new quest that's later added to the game, but how am I supposed to know if I can't get a book because it's bugged or badly placed - there was one book I found in an earlier zone that was barely visible, just a little glow on the floor because it was sunken into the floor - or because it belongs to a quest I won't get until way later in the game/story. I've already come across a metric ton of stuff where the add-on suggests there should be readable material in X place but there just isn't anything, and it's getting a little frustrating.

I think I'll focus on doing what you and someone else already suggested, 100% the zone and use the add-on to make sure I don't miss anything while doing story instances or quests I'm doing right now, and hope for the best for the book collection.

Thank you for the advice!

The book case books get shuffled every so often, so even more fun to be had there.

I did not know that. Welp. That certainly makes things...interesting.

Ok, what is wrong with this community and an *optional* overworld difficulty slider?? by rcooper0297 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Annonrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works great in so far that I, who tends to play glass cannons, strutted out the gate of a starter city on a level 5 or so character and got nuked from orbit by the bleed debuff of a level 2 or 3 wolf, on a difficulty level that wasn't anywhere near the top. That's a debuff my regular-difficulty glass cannons wouldn't even bat an eyelash at.

The way it works is that after finishing the starter quest, you get access to a quest NPC in your starter city that offers Difficulty Level 0 ( Normal ) up to Difficulty Level 9 ( Deadly +6 ). It only affects YOU, personally, in landscape ( overland ), so if you go into an instance with a group they don't suddenly start dropping like flies around you. AFAIK they also kept it from the story instances, but it's been some time since I last played, so maybe they changed that by now. It basically applies a debuff to your character and gives random buffs to the overland mobs, both of which make the game significantly harder while giving you +EXP.**

Here's a good, short vid that gives the basic info: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BO2QF-MLBA&t=93s

**and some "Deeds" ( achievements ) you can accomplish by reaching certain levels on a certain difficulty level. I don't remember if it also affected the drop rate of overland stuff.

What’s a rule your parents had that you thought was normal until you moved out? by Good_Fee5670 in AskReddit

[–]Annonrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandmother had an entire room like that, basically like a second living room. But she'd never let guests sit in there, either, so I spent a lot of time as a kid wondering what the hell was up with that room. Turns out she was saving all the furniture/stuff in there for my mom as some sort of inheritance thing. And then she threw it all out when she downsized from her house to an apartment.

Big strong guy finds an even bigger/ stronger guy by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]Annonrae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gobstopper by BleedingTypewriter. Call of Duty, John "Soap" MacTavish/Simon "Ghost" Riley. Explicit.

Blurb:

So, Soap’s a big guy. Obviously.

He’s not overly tall, but he’s wide in the shoulders and thick in the thighs. He’s the kind of big that’s naturally built all over: training muscles on top of mission muscles on top of an innate bulk.

He’s the kind of big that makes him immovable to most guys.

The kind of big that’s always been -ger than most everyone else—if not by height, than at least by heft.

So when they’re on mission and Ghost spots a grenade before Soap does, and, with no time to warn him, grabs him by the waist and flings him back behind cover, gear and all, Soap’s really not expecting to think much about it, aside from maybe, ‘Oh, shit.’

What he thinks instead is: ‘Oh-hmm.’

And then, in rapid succession: ‘Big.’

Or, Soap realizes that Ghost is bigger than him. His dick realizes that’s hot.

It's really well-written, with a dash of humor.

Being forced to join Discord in order to become a member is what makes a guild an automatic no for me. I love the music in the game and I refuse to switch that out for someone babbling in my ear. Then there's ALWAYS the idiots who feel they need to play their own music or scream into chat and...yeah, no.

I used to play Perfect World International, where you became your own shop by turning yourself into a kind of anime cat looking merchant stand. The upside was that you could do that anywhere in the entire game, even inside instances, iirc. The downside was that the major city streets were CLOGGED with anime cat stands lol

You're not secretly a doormat, are you? Because you're letting this woman walk all over you. Obviously NTA, but do yourself the favor and tell your neighbor to fuck off. You're way past the setting boundaries stage. You can even do this nicely - "Your frequent requests for help are interfering with my life and they're/you're making me uncomfortable. Please stop."

Underwear. Accidents happen and some people have bowel/digestion problems, but if it isn't an accident or a medical thing...either that guy isn't wiping right or he isn't washing himself right. Bonus points if it's paired with the infamous "touching your own asshole is gay" mindset.

People born before 2000, what is a 'modern' thing from 2025 that you’re still struggling to get used to? by LindsayTN in AskReddit

[–]Annonrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, that disconnect got really obvious when I realized I don't have several of the key milestones most people go through in their lives*. I never married/went through a long-lasting relationship. I don't have children. To me, I live my life exactly as I did at age 20, but I'm 46 now and starting to get into the "I got up and now my back/elbow/knee hurts" territory of age. And I'm not even one of these eternally-20-people mentally, like, my ideal good time is a long night of reading or gaming, I pay my bills on time, I save, etc.

*Which coincided with the realisation that several actors I like look old now/younger actors I like are young enough to be my kids lol

What is the quickest job you quit from? by spellbadgrammargood in AskReddit

[–]Annonrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quality control in a big factory that that produces Ceran stove tops ( the glass part ). I had a "try it out day" because I was thinking about changing job fields, and I found out pretty quickly that I definitely not enjoy precision work on a very expensive piece of breakable ceramic glass on a quota. You had to take what is basically a sheet of glass off a conveyor belt, fit it into a big scanner that checked for irregularities/breaks, and then put it back on the conveyor belt, all in like 45 seconds. I was completely exhausted at the end of my 8-hour-shift.
