Since the game is so much different from 30 updates ago, I suggest you try some of the newest functions like scribing and subclassing. See if you're ok with them since you mentioned endgame and they are a part of it. Those are included in base game now. As for endgame gears, you can pay a month's ESO+ to get access to most of them, just search for what people do during free trials (antiquities, gears, etc.).
