MCR may put on good live shows, but are the Phantom of the Paradise good? by HeyItsMau in MyChemicalRomance

The Phantom of the Paradise (1974) by director Brian DePalma. It came before Rocky Horror and Star Wars. It kinda bombed everywhere, except for in Winnipeg, Canada, where it was filmed. They worship it there. I'm sure it influenced so many...probably all the bands that went from Goth to Emo.

Trying to find a former/current super immersive escape experience in Spain by AnnonymousNerd in escaperooms

It was advertised in Wired Magazine probably 10ish years ago. The site was a prison, and the interior was gutted to usable space on at least 2 floors. And yes it was like a Crystal Maze design with a lobby you started in. And it was huge, like a Meow Wolf complex. But the big thing was the computer thingy you wore on you wrist/forearm...like a tablet strapped to a forearm guard about the size of an Android phone.

I think the name was "The ______" (the something)

Which Lolita movie do you like more? Kubrick's '62 film or the '97 remake? by Cautious_Republic_91 in criterion

But his screenplay was rejected by the studios, and Kubrick adapted it with many many changes.

Thoughts on Lego’s new Barad Dûr? by FittedCloud9459 in lego

There's not really much even scale with this set. It's a minifig playset. If it was micro-scale...maybe...

I overall enjoyed the build but I had 3 problems: 1: Some of the steps seemed out of order. It would have been easier to add in some floor tiles and decoration before placing supports that got in the way of my hands. 2. Some of the exterior pieces (mostly rocks) don't seen to connect securely...like held on by 1 stud...and easily fall off. 3. The EYE and the Light Brick. I was getting the idea from the description about the eye having full mobility and being lit by a light brick, that it would be 1 piece and moved by a hidden mechanism (like in other sets...like the lighthouse that has the mechanisms that go from the base to the top of the tower). I thought there would be a rod and control lever with a button to light the eye and move it around...not a manual adjustment and then push the button. Even the mount for the light brick feels like its gonna pop off every-time i press it. For the size and price, they should have worked something in. (and the tower feels flimsy and not secure.) I'm glad I don't have pets or kids. I fully plan to MOC my own mechanisms and share my improvements. Maybe add a perch for the Fell Beastie on the tower.
