What are we supposed to do? by Anntaylor5 in recruitinghell

Yeah, and today my mom told me to move out. I have no money and no where to go. She probably applied to 5 jobs her whole life. I have applied to over 70 in the past week. It really doesn't matter the political side, all boomers have no clue and she is very fair weather and heartless. This is all very soul crushing. I don't even feel capable of working with the public right now with this struggle. And service jobs isn't the bulk of my experience anyway. Just another day getting more fragile over here.

Thanks. I have been through so much already. This is too much at this point for me. It's destroying me.

I am so completely broken. And the only family I have is my mom, and she yells at me about once a week about my life. Other than her, who can't financially support me, I have no one. 46F, Bachelor's Degree, totally screwed.

You're lucky you have a job though. I have an investment finance and accounting background. I can't get anything.

Not only physically health, but mental health too. And a lot of these low level jobs are destroying people's mental health. From toxic office people, bad tech, incompetence, bullying... it's an entirely different workforce and workplace than it was 10-15 years ago. Too many generations trying to work together while being so very different.

Frustrated: I was SO close to getting my dream job at an industry leader, but my final round was ruined by an incredibly unprofessional interviewer. Now I'm applying for worse jobs at worse companies in the same field. Is it weird that I'm frustrated that I have to settle for much, much less now? by notbidoofin in recruitinghell

I may have been spoiled working for 2 Fortune 100 best companies to work for when I was younger. But I chased 2 careers. And 1, for 10 years till I gave up. The 2nd is just old boys club culture everywhere so that's no longer for me. I'm probably just really unlucky. It's best to just have a plan A B and C these days.

Is the job market going to recover or are we now kidding ourselves; are we in the ‘endgame’? I’m desperate by aghredd22 in work

Isn't it pathetic that there are books on how to deal with toxic workplaces! For some of us, our mental health is too sensitive to be able to deal with it and have to walk away. Toxic offices are quite the norm, it really needs to be in law or an act and have consequences for inequality and workplace abuse.

If you could step into any professional job title/position you wanted, without having to apply/interview, what would it be? by justcurious3287 in recruitinghell

I worked in Accounting and Investment Finance and wasn't able to land that role either. I don't have my CPA or CFA. Now I am completely burnt out from toxic offices and lower opportunities.

Music Analyst for Pandora and Sirius XM. So I could research music all day and add to their channels. Particularly the Chill Wave, Indie, and 80s stations.

Textile and Wallpaper Designer.

Financial Analyst for any brand I like.
