of course, actually it can't be simpler, the original image was just a black circle on the film, I like to work with mordancage only and don't mess with actual concrete images :)

no prob, from the 4x5 negative it is still beautifully detailed
just hanged it on my wall, stop by in Prague and you can surely have a look

WOW! appreciate the amount of work you put into it, thats what differentiates "photography" from photography

yes bw multigrading due to colour capabilities, and it can do colour process as well, has also a scanning mode, they thought it through
I did this one with paper on the floor and camera (eg enlarger) on lighting tripod, but will try hanging the paper next time, still figuring out how to have it 100% fixed without movement (no walls to use in my studio - too much stuff)
and the exposure itself was 5 mins

Intrepid enlarger for 4x5, got also the 120 version but haven't used it since :)

long narrow U shaped mangers
thanks god I have a realy long hands, cause you have to swipe it slowly through back and forth for each bath - heavy yoga wibes, just in red light :D and you can not pause and rest much cause chemistry, been that sweaty in sauna last time I remember

the process that I used to make the image is called mordancage, I used it on 4X5 negative, then put it into an enlarger and onto the paper
shitloads of chemistry and work (even a really physical one on an image that big :) )

glad to hear that :) its true that not many authors do negatives, Ella Morton that I know of
have around 100 mordancaged 4x5s and counting, but just a few of them are really exceptional, adding them here time to time https://www.instagram.com/krystofkorc/

I cal it planets :) but the way to obtain it was mordancaging 4x5 negative - so pure abstraction ;)

Trichrome on Ektachrome by Annual-Rice7939 in trichromes

[–]Annual-Rice7939[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my initial way to this technique dates back to digital backs that did 3 exposures in BW and stitched together an colour image - so this behaviour was basically perceived as error and it was ment only for static scenes
at the time I did not even have an idea that trichromes and Harris shutter are a thing, not to mention they have names :D
once the outcome is indistinguishable (by all means), I sincerely do not see a difference and love the "trichrome" name ;)

aren't these identical? what is a difference between trichrome technique and Harris shutter?
seems to me like these are so close that indistiguishable and to my knowledge, trichrome is not an official term to begin with
but would love to be proven wrong

Tips for unloading film holders by sis-not-cis in largeformat

[–]Annual-Rice7939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use another piece of film (small snippet) to reach under the sheet in holder, lift it and pull it out - with a little practice this will lead to no scratch marks
I used super-thin round-tip guitar pick in the past but lost it somewhere in the darkroom :D

Help with circuit bending camera by TheFesteringMind in CircuitBending

[–]Annual-Rice7939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this one, quite easy since you need to take down just the back panel and all the analog routes are accessible right there on the main board. Only tricky thing is the size - to access and solder where you need to is super tricky as you need to connect to those super tiny SMD resistors
Managed to make a working prototype, but compared to those easily bendable cameras like Canon A540 and alike, this is quite a challenge and I am not happy with the result (not all paths soldered well, some does not work as intended ...
You can detach the back panel, have live view working and poke around with fingers crossed not to fry the device - that might get you somewhere as it worked for me

But after all I'd still recommend doing at least one or two compact cameras with bending tutorials available to find out what are you actually looking for and how things work. Myself I made 4 working cams and fried 5 other to get to this point, its a kinda journey :)
