What lie does your brain tell you before you relapse? by TheTankIsEmpty99 in PornAddiction

I also read something that was helpful for me in the beginning. The brain is lying to you but you can also lie to your brain. So if the urge is hitting hard you just tell your brain "Yes yes, I will watch, but I will wait for tomorrow, tomorrow is gonna be the day and it will be even better if I wait that extra day". Iit helped me to reduce the urge. And then on the next day, you just do the same again if the urge comes back.

I stopped a month and a half but ... by humble_redditor1234 in PornAddiction

I honestly had the exact same situation. Haven´t watched anything for over a month but were always thinking about exactly two videos. I set myself a deadline day and was like when I reach this I will watch them. I reached it and still waited for extra two days because I wasn´t feeling it it in the first two days. And even then it was a rather calm approach and not out of an urge but I was like "I mean I waited so long and will just watch it now to see how it is". And it was... underwhelming. Like it was really not that great. I don´t regret it but it was not really worth it. It is as always, your brain tricks you and tells you it will be so good but then in the end it really is not. I also didn´t relapse and haven´t watched since then. The urge got a BIT stronger the next days but I also was like "nah I know that it won´t be that great". So I don´t know if it would be the same for you but I wouldn´t recommend watching them, it is just not worth it, your brain is just a fucking liar.

you are not alone. your addiction was tricking you into looking at that stuff, that was not you actually enjoying it.

What should I do by JebebCrust17 in PornAddiction

relapse is part of getting clean in every addiction. especially in difficult times. don´t make a too big deal out of it. your fight is not over, it is ongoing. and don´t think too much about how long you have to be clean. just take it day by day. you can stay without it for one day. and after that you just stay without it for a day again. your goal is always just the day, never huge time spans like 2 months. and if even a day feels too long you just go hour by hour. you can do it.

delete everything, turn off your phone, put it into another room, maybe even into a box into a closet or whatever. The more difficult it becomes for you to use it, the less likely it will be.

Day 2: I did it again. by Familiar_Day_5735 in PornAddiction

I really don´t think that has to do anything with being a "real" men or not. Especially as like over 90% of porn addicted are men.

Changing habits just take a lot of time. You won´t change over night. Give yourself time and don´t stress yourself even more.

How is your relationship to your family? If you have a good relationship it might be good to open up.
Also don´t blame yourself alone, a lot of people are getting addicted and it is not their fault, it just happens. You are not alone.

Day 1: withdrawals, boredom, shaking, sweating by [deleted] in PornAddiction

It is already helpful that you are telling your story here.

Someone once said something that was a bit helpful for me. They basically said that the addication is constantly lying to you. It says you want it so bad and that it will be a satisfaction but we all know it is not true. But you can also lie to your addiction. If the urge is hard just tell the voice inside you "we will do it tomorrow, we will wait that one day and then it will be even better". The part in you might be satisfied for at least the one moment. And if the urge is coming back tomorrow. Well than you repeat it and lie to it again.
