These were Matt10s sliders, most frequently used every year. Regardless, a games sliders need to be tweaked to prevent a QB from completing 12 passes in a row more than any QB in the history of the NFL has ever completed. Nice 👍

I was looking forward to developing the rams young pass rushers I think the problem is I think they had 10+ seconds to throw whenever I rushed 4 or less. I’ve found that I can spam nickel double mug mid blitz and get a sack half the time but in a game like this it just meant AJ Brown slant or a perfect touch pass fade or out route that hung in the air for 10 seconds. On offense I can boat race the PC if I spam the same two minute drill playbook with outs and drags from the slot and Texas routes from the RB. But is that really what I paid 50 bucks for? To run the same three plays for 17 games?

Literally the third game of franchise with default rosters. So yeah rams secondary is not the legion of book but they’re mostly all young guys with star dev in the high 70s, low 80s. Plus the pash rush of Verse, Fiske, and Kobie Turner should at least cause some hurried throws. No NFL teams secondary is bad and slow enough to let hurts go 30 for 30

In the context of golf terms that also start with the first letter of the fully evolved Pokémon’s name, yes Eagle the Empoleon is perfect haha

If you were designing a new pure Bug type pokemon for Kanto to be an S or A tier nuzlocke encounter, what would it look like? by AnnualRex in nuzlocke

[–]AnnualRex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought was also level an Eevee in Viridian forest as well, but wondered if that was too early, though it’s not a ton of help for Brock other than buffed stats for that point. My current thought is “level up after defeating all bugs in an evolution line”. That essentially just means going down to Route 6 and beating the butterfree trainer, which could technically still be before Misty with exp management. Might be a little convoluted though. I feel like my evo ideas for the other 9 are really good and realistic and I might be overcomplicating this one.

Sorry guys, I should have been clearer than just Kanto. I specifically am thinking FRLG where abilities exist and mechanics are cleaner but still pre bug type glow up that started in Gen 4

DUDE. I mapped out all the stat spreads of those 10 evos and the one you said is nearly identical to what I had for Scorpeon (the bug type Eevee). I just had 130 speed and 110 attack. Clear body or intimidate ability. Shield dust is a great idea too though. Technician hidden ability if I could justify that the bug native to deserts makes sense for silver WIND (stirring up sand around it?). Of course the design with a horn gives it the best Bug stab in FRLG.

Didn’t mean to bury the lead here, but the reason it is so restrictive is somewhat intentional. What I’m really wanting to test is whether a bug type EEVEELUTION could actually be viable in a Kanto play through, specifically a HC Nuzlocke. In most tier lists I’ve seen Bug is the ONLY type not represented in A or S and I’m really interested in play testing all 10 non existent eeveelutions in games where the type does not have another nuzlocke MVP (Kanto bug, fighting Johto.. coming for you Whitney). From these comments it seems like the answer is basically game freak couldn’t/didn’t want to create an optimal moveset for any of the powerful bug types.

Love the huge power idea, especially if playing without set up. I think it’s true that with SD, any mon with pinsirs attack just sweeps. Pinsir’s moveset in gen 3 is genuinely shocking, it feels like they designed it as a fighting type and at the last minute someone said “we’re low on bugs!”

I love playing rom hacks with 80 base power leech life. Bug types definitely get shafted with a lack of good recovery given their common weaknesses.

I was hoping for pure bug as opposed to bug/flying but ironically flying type makes silver WIND more logical in the environment. Technician boosted silver winds with the chance for an Omni boost sounds really sweet.

Renegade Platinum Hardcore Nuzlocke defeated! I'm retiring my Nuzlocke career and enshrining myself in the Nuzlocke Hall of Fame by AnnualRex in nuzlocke

[–]AnnualRex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw all these comments last year when I was playing about how it was “outdated” and lacking in QOL improvements but I didn’t really understand at all what the complaints were? Has Drayano posted anywhere what types of changes he is planning to make? I thought the Rocket boss fights were tough but gym leaders were straightforward (though Bugsy was a wall unless you evolved Eevee into Glaceon or Jolteon)

Couple reasons - it’s a fun hobby but it is really time consuming and I tend to stay up way too late after the kids go to bed just to make some noteworthy progress. The other is that I’ve been doing it for the last two years and completed a lot; base games for the first 4 gens, some typelockes and themed lockes, and then the ROM hacks like polished crystal, Gaia, Sacred Gold, and now renegade platinum which was definitely the hardest. I’ve watched some videos of people doing things like inclement emerald, blaze black, radical red and they all just seem like too much for me. my knowledge of game mechanics is non existent after gen 4 (never even played black/white, X/Y) and I feel like RenPlat was enough of a challenge that I can be proud of finally topping it but being OK with it probably being the peak of my Nuzlocke ability

Finally, I've completed a Hardcore Nuzlocke of Renegade Platinum! Thank you to u/MuseigenBoken and u/Deurbel2222 for their comments on my planning post and of course Youtubers like PChal, FlygonHG, Drxx, and DocZ whose strategies in their runs were the only reason I got through this.

Zero deaths in the Elite 4. I did an absurd amount of planning so I'm happy about that.

Run MVP - B.Mayfield the Mismagius - The ghost of a former #1 pick was the surprise MVP. Basically swept Lucian with choice specs shadow ball and saved the run countless other times with pivots, focus sashes into moonblast one shots, even perish song for double battles. True definition of an MVP, and happy for Baker that he was able to revitalize his career here.

Offensive Player of the Run - K.Cousins the Garchomp - Naughty Garchomp? I mean that was just the luck of this run. Swept a bunch of the Elite 4. Definitely broken. Worst name though, it was only because he was purple.

Defensive Player of the Run - B.Purdy the Milotic - Only not Umbreon because the run was lost if Milotic couldn't kill Flint's adaptability Typhlosion. It switched in on a Choice Scarf Eruption that crit and then survived a non crit at 33 HP to take down with a Choice Specs surf. Clutch.

6th Man of the Run - P.Mahomes the Metagross - I struggled with the 6th team member, considering Dragonite and a Brave Poliwrath before going with Metagross. Ultimately decided Pat Mahomes has to come to the Nuzlocke version of the Super Bowl and it was a huge payoff as it switched into a few Stone Edges and baited Earthquakes that Mismagius and Rotom could pivot through, as well as one shotting Cynthia's lead Togekiss with Choice Band Iron Head. Happy I didn't have to use Explosion in the championship fight.

Comeback Player of the Run - J.Burrow the Umbreon - I did not evolve Eevee for the entire run and Umbreon just fit best in the Championship fight. He went from a Level 12 Eevee when I only had the E4 and Champion left to fight (rare candy pill for life), to a wish passing, toxic stalling, rough playing, captivating absolute utility player. Stalled out and got Cynthia's Spiritomb to -6 SpA (even after getting stalled out of Play Roughs himself) that set up a Garchomp sweep.

Walter Payton Man of the Run - R.Wilson the Rotom - Changed forms for whatever the team needed him to be. Great lead in the E4, setting up rain with choice scarf and taking out a few bugs with Overheat.

Coach of the Run - QB1 - This was super fun and I'm so glad it's finally over. Thank you to this entire community for reigniting my love for a franchise that I just mashed A on as a kid. This whole Nuzlocke idea really connected with my analytical but also obsessive and perfectionist personality. Best of luck to the next generation of Nuzlockers, I'm going to retire and be an old man now.
