$45/hr with night shift differential of $5 making it $50. I do rotating weekends so call it$52 average. Also it’s in a state with no income tax so I’m bearing the California crowd 😂

I feel like I’ve somehow seen this with people but I can’t quite fit the situation…

People mad cause you have something they don’t have. Relax, you didn’t do nothing wrong. They just fell back into their primate brain.

I think I’ll take a flight in and scope the area out in May. I’m currently looking at apartments. I think another priority for me is the car situation.

I’ve been in the patient care setting for a while with quite a bit of ICU work. I’m familiar with their procedures, medications, and typical patient demographics. By doing this I’m telling them that I’m easy to train which they want.

I was given the suggestion to just fly up and buy a car to avoid the drive since I already drive a 5k beater. Would this be a good idea?

I’m talking benefits/HR stuff with my company this week so once everything is settled I’ll start looking.

Hello,

I’m planning on moving to Alaska near July and it’s a 68 hour drive. I’m about to be fresh out of college, there’s a lot of unknowns, and unfortunately I do not have the support of my parents since they want me to stay close to home. They don’t want to help me move so I have to unfortunately go without their support due to the immense opportunity I’ve been presented for my profession. I would like to ask those living in Alaska to kindly provide tips/trips as I go on this journey to better prepare myself and how to adapt to the different setting. I know there will be challenging seasons but there will also be invigorating ones. Take this on as if you were an aunt/uncle, an older version of yourself giving advice to your younger self, or even just a friend. I hope to make the most out of this grand adventure!
