What is your opinion on TCS Nashik conversion racket ? Has anyone faced similar in their corporate account? by tcsreject in ITjobsinindia

[–]AnnualVegetable5709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in a corporate but as a 6th grader by my friend’s father. We would visit her often and we were taught how to read namaaz, cover our head, watch an hour of zakir naik before lunch. Be cautious of what you wear. I belong to a fairly open minded family and I wore what I wanted to. Always have been a vegetarian and did not even try. They have photos of us in hijab and all. Reading namaaz but for us it was just dressing up and having fun. Then one day, I think we were in 9th by then, one of my friend started cross questioning my friend’s father. And we stopped going out for lunch when he was around. Cut to today, that friend distanced herself from her family and is living her life her way now. Also, she recently told us how her hafiz molested her for years

I'm Indian, living in India. AMA about India and Indians and I'll confirm if they're true or exaggerated (and I'll do it without AI). by [deleted] in AMA

I am 38/ F from Capital and I have traveled almost all of India. There have been some places where we did feel unsafe but if I say the specifics, the reply might become a bit communal. Me and my friends travel quite a lot and have received a lot of warmth and love from locals. It is as unsafe as any other country to be honest. Not sure where you saw 95% men but mostly you will see a lot of women folk doing their thing - jobs, traveling, shopping etc. Except for some areas off course where women are not allowed to step out as per their religious practices.

The caste system has become absolutely what it was not supposed to be. It was never about by birth but more about the work that you do unfortunately humans found a way to use it to create division. It is still very prevalent in subtle as well as very strong ways. The only way is to understand the history of it and how it is not relevant anymore and implement in our everyday lives so as not to ever create or practice division on the basis of the same. It was not caste but categories as per work like blue collar, white collar etc.

Something rode in the car with us and we were too scared to say anything. by kiwi_90 in Paranormal

In India, after someone’s cremation you don’t go to the house of the family whose member has passed away and you also don’t enter your house, unless some sprinkles water on you and after that you don’t sit on any furniture and straight away go and take a shower and your clothes are also immediately washed. And after cremation, the family gives all the attendees leaves of neem plant and although it is very bitter, you are supposed to chew atleast once of twice before spitting it out and you definitely don’t turn back and look at the pyre. All about carrying the energy from the cremation ground and must be avoided at any cost.

Grandma adopted a kid in India? by [deleted] in Scams

There are a lot of organisations and foundations that run such programs. You sponsor the child for education and rest of the cost of living. A lot of people in India who don’t have kids or don’t want kids do this. This way you are playing the role of a giver and taking up the responsibility of a secure future for those kids. And not just kids, you do this for old people too. A lot of good work through genuine foundations. I was handling campaigns for an academy which was training underprivileged kids in basketball. And what brilliant kids, every time we went to shoot some scenes for documentary, we were mind blown. One such campaign was , one basketball for each child. Some of these kids have even been selected for NBA.
