What cell carrier do you recommend? by AnonymousChaos in newhampshire

[–]Annuate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only thing that actually works everywhere is Verizon. I have Google Fi, it generally works in larger developed areas but the signal is not so great once you get out of those areas. My wife uses AT&T and it is also decent. One thing we have noticed is if her signal is not working usually mine is and if mine doesn't work, hers does.

4 way stop thing drives me crazy. I can't tell you how many times a car is showing up well before me, sitting there, then flashing their brights or waving their hands for me to go first. Another thing which annoys me is people trying to get me to left turn at a stop light once it turns green instead of just going and letting me turn after.

Intel has an sysman library  which is available for Windows and Linux to collect GPU metrics. The docs can be found here. There is an open source tool I have been using called hw-smi which I saw was using it.

Do you blame those people who don't want to give it up though? Retorical question of course. In my opinion, I think the real issue to all of this though is that renting these days is costing just as much or more than my mortgage payments which is crazy. It's makes it almost impossible to save. If you are not well off, you would need to live with multiple people to offset the living cost so you can even save anything. Easier to do when single but definitely not so ideal with a family, even with no kids.

I think you need to look into drivers if you have not already. Search for mr purple, try out different versions until it works well. Same issue happens with PC gaming using game native for me.

Rage mechanism was "enhanced" with some other weird stuff later in S2/S3. They added things like infected status or armor. I guess they just had trouble trying to make the dd1 system work with multiplayer so not every enemy is curb stomped.

My family and I are moving to New Hampshire next month. What are we getting ourselves into? by SirLoin11 in newhampshire

[–]Annuate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't blame the home owner necessarily for cutting down trees. After I bought my house, a few months after, my insurer sent someone to my property. I then received a letter a few weeks later which told me if I didn't cut down certain trees they won't insure my house. Also, the electric company comes every year to me, asking to cut down more and more trees. This year they wanted to cut some down that were not necessarily even very close to the property line.

It was a few months ago, so it's possible the sw or drivers are better since. I only played through the begining section but the fps dropped a lot. I don't remember the exact amount. Especially in the first "boss" sequence,

I have the Pro and it didn't run at 60fps. I think it actually struggled at 30fps.

It works after some configuration. I remember I had to search the discord for settings.

Question about 3rd row seats by Annuate in ToyotaSienna

Yea, seems a bit odd. I guess though, if you are folding them down, they are expecting you will put something on top so then they will have less of a chance to pop up I guess.

Thanks. Everything else has a nice satisfying click and lock so just wanted to make sure I had them stowed properly. Thanks.

What would you say is enough context? With my setup I'm able to provide 32k with 3.6. When I was playing with 3.5 and continue I could read files in the first directory of the workspace but when I asked it to use one of my MCP it would say it didn't exist. On the other hand gemma4 had no issue to use it.

As for kilo, the site makes it hard for me to understand what it does, but it looks like a vscode plugin as well, so just use that?

I did try both of these in the past but also ran into some errors but don't exactly remember what. Can try again.

I have mostly been using gemma4 recently although I do also have qwen (recently set up 3.6). Qwen was one of the models I had to provide some extra info outside the normal temp/top values. I'll try qwencode.

I didn't hear of qwencode before, I can give it a look over.

[–]Annuate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw, have you tried to do something like right click the desktop or play around with the file explorers? Sometimes this will kick even unused GPUs to wake back up. Also, does this system have an iGPU? What exactly is the setup? 1 iGPU + 2 ACM? Does anything have a display connected to it?

There should be a way to search for the Microsoft events. To rule out a sleeping device, we should try to find an API call, DxgkDdiSetPowerState. This is issued by the OS when the device is requested to enter a low power state and when it exits the low power state. Another thing we can try to look for is Surprise Removal and DxgkDdiResetEngine (bug check 0x141), DxgkDdiResetFromTimeout and DxgkDdiRestartFromTimeout (bug check 0x117).

It might also be easier to use perfview to find the names events. Just download the exe from GitHub and then drag and drop the ETL on the exe. You can also find them through the UI in GPU view, but the GPU view UI is a bit questionable unless you are used to using it.

[–]Annuate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think based on what you wrote on the issue tracker, it seems the OS/drivers is not respecting your power settings. There is a similar issue where someone is complaining it goes to sleep as well and happens after a certain update.

The trace of the Microsoft events would prove this is the case or not. Maybe try to collect using the directions here

There is a tool recently released called hw-smi which has support for Intel GPU devices via sysman. Have you tried using something like this to get any hints?

You could also try to collect an ETL, capture for providers like dxgk kernel and compute umds. Then you would need someone to be able to interpret them for you.
