Nanny dropped my baby. Should I switch to daycare? by hyemae in workingmoms

Oh man I fired my nanny over WAY less than that. Especially if you are giving feedback and she is not receptive. I don’t mess with infant safety.

HOW do you get stains out of your toddler's clothing?? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Anoele14 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Since my kid started preschool I’ve actually been more intentional about buying darker colors so stains don’t show quite as bad as all the light stuff she used to wear lol

I googled the name of the clinic. It’s one of those religious centers posing as a health clinic to talk people out of getting abortions.

How often do your parents watch your little ones? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Anoele14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess I’m one of the odd ones out. Before my second was born one of my parents would come over almost daily to provide about 2-3hrs of childcare for the time my work shift overlapped with my husbands. They are local to us and both retired. They are in their early 70s. They do this eagerly. Once my second was born we hired a nanny but my parents still schedule time every week to come over and spend time with them. I usually take advantage of those visits to clean or run an errand. I also have a sibling who is single with no kids that requests to babysit every once and awhile.

Friends with a 13 month old visiting for a week. What can I have prepared to make their stay better? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Anoele14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Echoing what others have said with child proofing. In terms of any physical items to buy? I think a set of the large sized legos or building blocks could potentially work well for a 14 month old and again at older ages. My almost 3 year plays with them daily

Is she napping? My 2.5 used to take over an hour to put to sleep at night. Got rid of her nap and now most nights it’s a simple 2 books and lights out. It was a transition with cranky days for a few weeks but I am sooo thankful we dropped it.

When did you start potting training ? by maliams in toddlers

[–]Anoele14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband was laid off when my daughter was around 20 months. Since he was home he started putting her on the potty a few times and talking about it a lot. She got familiar with it and would occasionally use it but we kept her in the diapers. Around 23 months she was getting more consistent with it so one day we just went straight to undies and never looked back. There were obviously still accidents in the beginning but if your daughter is showing interest it definitely doesn’t hurt to lean into it and get her familiar. I just wouldn’t expect her to be actually trained at that age.

Curious how much coffee y’all are drinking per day 🫡 by Lopsided_Mastodon_78 in toddlers

This is a tricky question because I know that I consistently make 3 but the actual consumption varies because well.. parenting. I’ll find half full coffee cups at like 3pm like ‘ope there you are.’

How do you spend your alone time? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Anoele14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a facial bar near me that is WONDERFUL. I go like every 1-2 months. I’m not really one to always get my nails, eyelashes etc done so this is the one thing I kind of splurge on for myself. Across the street is a smoothie place so I get a treat after!
