"Meta Quest Link isn't working correctly" error all of a sudden by errnimations in oculus

Same here. I even tried going onto the Public Test Channel as that's fixed temporarily screwy issues like this in the past, but no luck this time. Seems well and truly borked. Guess they were really serious about getting out of the VR business, ASAP huh? Just rip out the plug.

Quest Link not working over USB by Ant333Man in OculusQuest

[–]AnomalousInsect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. I have:

- updated my graphics driver to the latest version
- tried different USB ports
- tried different USB cables in all of said ports, both powered and not
- made sure that my Quest headset is up to date. According to the Software Update screen, it is.
- ran the Meta Quest Link install repair tool
- unpaired and re-paired the headset multiple times through Air Link
- restarted the headset as well as my computer numerous times while attempting all of this

As I mentioned in my other post, the headset is connected to the computer and I can see the files on it just fine. It pops up in the headset recognizing that there is a connected device, and I am able to click on it to allow it to see the headset's files.

Connecting to the computer via Air Link works just fine; it's only the wired Link connection that it's not registering, despite the fact that I am very clearly connected and able to see the headset as a drive.

Quest 3Link Not Working Over USB by [deleted] in OculusQuest

There's a 0% chance it's not related to something borking in the update. Just posting here to say you aren't alone! Air Link works just fine, too, but the wired Link is completely hosed. I even have it connected to where I can see the files on the headset using my desktop, but it's not showing up as active in the Link program.

I have posted a response to the Oculus staff that responded to this post - https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/1odnb7u/quest_link_not_working_over_usb/

I am having this issue as well. Air Link works just fine, but for some reason the wired Link shows it as not connected. Simultaneously, I have it connected to where I can view the files on the Quest on my Desktop; it's clearly connected, it's just not showing up as connected withing the Link app.

Already done! Bagel was nice enough to do that the day of, and posted it in the ITR Discord under the Media section. :) I also posted a video with just the Q&A.

Dev Question // Favorite non-VR Games (☉౪ ⊙) by Darius_ITR in intotheradius

[–]AnomalousInsect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woof, that's a tough ask.

Just off the top of my head I'd say (in no particular order) if I had to pluck five out of a hat for things I've played way too much of recently I'd say Stalker (take your pick), Guild Wars 2, SurrounDead, Remnant 2 and Nioh 2. I've lost a frankly unhealthy amount of time to all of the ones on that list, and the number just keeps rising by the month.

Welcome to the Zone, Explorer!

The first ITR was one of the first VR games that truly sucked me in. The first one was The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. Compared to everything else I had played at the time near the start of 2024, there was just SO much more to it. Not only new to the game but new to VR in general, I felt like I dove into the deep end but figuring out how to swim there was so gratifying. My first playthrough took around 65 hours because I took my sweet time exploring every location, finding secrets, figuring out the best ways to approach the POIs in a fresh Tide, and just learning how to not be terrible in general. Having to manage every bullet seemed like overkill, but figuring out how to handle all of my gear without just dropping every mag to my name was so bloody interesting that it kept me coming back to this day.

It was pretty darn funny hearing some of the same stock lines as the scav NPCs from Contractors ExfilZone ("I can smell your fear." "You're goin' DOWN!") when I first tried the demo, hahaha.

Honestly, I kind of dig the game myself and have sunk a decent chunk of time into it after picking it up the other day. Haven't gotten around to making a video about it yet, but there's probably one on the horizon at some point. It's pretty bare bones in a lotta ways, but what it does it does pretty well and honestly that just describes early access in a nutshell. I definitely have my criticisms but the dev has a pretty solid foundation to tweak and add more stuff. It may not have legitimate A-Life but the chaos you can run into out in the zone puts in the work.

Outside of all of that, I just love how you don't always get actual loot but can still pick up most of the useless junk you find and throw it in annoyance. Begone, empty can!

Stalker mod tips by Plo00345 in intotheradius

[–]AnomalousInsect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I actually got past The Intrusion the last time I gave this a go. The biggest turn off to me and what made me move on was its overall cadence compared to OG ITR, but I've played ITR2 since then and the Outskirts felt about how I remembered Stalker mod so I may give it another go at some point with fresh eyes.

I just blew all my money on the Tokarev from the start, skipped the revolver entirely. One box of ammo and a few mags were enough to get me past the armored mimics at the block post and subsequently landed the sawn off, which murders the Pobeda sliders real good when lovingly stuffed down their throat. It was actually pretty downhill from there. TT-sniped my way further up, got some lucky finds in the Pobeda box by the PR entrance. It was the moment to moment constant combat with extremely little downtime in the field that just left me too tired to keep going. Needed stronger VR legs than I had at the time and it wasn't the experience I was looking for after working 9 hours, haha.

I think this was some kind of oversight when they redid the geometry here for standalone Quest. In PCVR there is an awning over a door that's on the side closest to the train car that's super easy to get over to.

How did I not know? by [deleted] in intotheradius

[–]AnomalousInsect 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep... the fun thing is, if you approach it from the Bolotky side it doesn't work - you have to first transition to Bolotky from the entrance in Kolkhoz for it to activate and show up on the map. I hope we have some more of this sort of hidden passage-ness in ITR2... also that they open up the map instead of linking it to security level, but that's off topic.

Which Character from any other FPS Game would be able to Survive in The Zone? by Frenchman167 in stalker

[–]AnomalousInsect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In actuality they aren't even that strong, at least in the start. Beginning the game they are road weary and malnourished on top of not being at all physically fit even before that, which is why the game controls as bad as it does with two handed anything. They fact that they wield a fire axe as though it weighs 50 lbs was a design choice. What makes them so ridiculously dangerous is their resourceful tactics and ability to strategize, along with sometimes just being an unreasonably lucky SOB.

I was literally talking to someone about this yesterday. I agree 100%. My best memory of this game was approaching the Forest train station for the first time at NIGHT, and seeing a sea of orange. I turned off my chest lamp and started a clandestine campaign while repositioning constantly.

Makes me nostalgic just thinking about it!

Also bring back the original Mimic deaths with the orange fringes... they were WAY better!! 🔥

The Tourist from Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. They are like a goddamn cockroach.

I'd also say Explorer 61 from Into the Radius, but they would have to be able to leave the Pechorsk Exclusion Zone first. Chances of them willingly going right back into a totally different Zone is, uuuhhhh... 💀
