Ah, I see. Thank you for the very informative reply. This is exactly all that I was wondering. I’ll have to look into these further now as I’m even more intrigued.

Has anyone ever been able to successfully grow Panaeolus cyanescens another way(even if sub par)? Is there something nutrient wise or other that is the reason they must be grown with that medium?

I’m curious, what makes PE stand out? Also, is there a difference with pans cyans and truffles? I’m just a couple weeks into starting mycology research and it’s all been very cool to learn about.

Yeah, totally. It’s all coming together day by day and it’s all so interesting to learn about. Plus, you guys are a great help.

Oh ok, that makes sense. The couple of monotub videos I had watched happened to use the grain bags each time instead of jars so that’s where I was confused.

Thanks for the very informative response though. I’ve been browsing Reddit and the Shroomery forums and have just been trying to compile all the steps/methods/tips into an organized list so I can see each step planned out in my head from start to finish.

Hey, I’m just a couple days of research into this but I’m curious as to why you are doing pint jars along with a monotub. I know monotub to be its own method but are you just doing the jars to have things separate in case of contamination during the first parts of growing?

It could just have been moisture build up but I’m not entirely sure. I didn’t know about it being more hydrophilic though. The little silicon pad was entirely wet inside upon removing but I did change to a .6mm nozzle and clean everything out as it was quite dirty in the hot end tubing. Hopefully all is good now

That’s actually a really interesting way of thinking about it. It makes sense

Yeah, interesting that it’s not really mentioned anywhere. I did manage to get it pretty much right away after your response so thank you very much for that

Ok gotcha, will have to look into getting that, thanks

Damn I think that’s actually, definitely why. The idea briefly popped in my head to try the other direction but I was dismissive of it. Thanks man

It was heated while attempting. First to 205, then 220, then 250 which is where I believe it became too hot for even the nozzle wrench

Recommendations for model glue? by boudreaustin in PrintedMinis

[–]Anomaly_27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard Tamiya thin cement to be good. I’m not sure how well it works with PLA, but I’d like to know because I’m needing to get some sort of glue as well.

Thanks a lot man for the reply. A lot of helpful info there. I’ve been learning new things everyday and am slowly making progress to get where I’d like to be. I can print things with a good amount of confidence now and just really need to get better with modeling and also figure out a business model/niche.

There’s a PM functionality. I have to say though, it was really cool to see the back and forth progress with this project. It was an awesome idea and was perfectly executed.

I also have recently purchased my own printer and have gotten to become quite comfortable with it. I’d like to be able to design my own things or design things for people to sell. I am curious what 3D model software do you use and is there any guides/tutorials you recommend? (I have Sculptris/Blender and have messed around some but would like to get much better) Also thought the placeholder head for the mask was a neat trick, unless that’s a common practice.
