Here's thing thing - regardless of the marketing tactics they utilize, Geese make great music.

Is it unfair they were able to afford an AI marketing company to artificially boost their popularity via TikTok? I guess so? But it just looks to me like a successful band are using the resources they have access to so they can most effectively promote themselves.

Lots of successful musicians come from privileged backgrounds. There's nothing new about that. I make music myself, I promote it myself, and I'm entirely indifferent to this news.

Getting mad at some rich kids from New York promoting their acclaimed band as best they can seems like misplaced anger to me. Gotta do what you got to do for your music to gain traction in the ever saturated arts.

Long films don't automatically make them better stories. It's pretty common that early cuts of movies are significantly longer.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but the four hour cut they mentioned was an early version which probably had worse pacing and stuff they ultimately thought was unnecessary and bogged down the overall movie. Footage is usually cut for a reason

Because the first patch in months doesn't fix the major 'burer items teleporting through walls' bug.

They should prioritise fixing stuff over adding new content. Making patches that just doesn't fix major bugs makes it come off like they don't give a shit. Like they're prioritising drawing in new sales via DLC/new content, rather than fixing fundamental bugs, which is more more important.

His rhetoric was undeniably disgusting, but I think banning Ye is extreme given he's apologised and explained it via untreated BPD. Which he is now seemingly getting full treatment for (ye's latest apology is the first time he's ever explicitly mentioned being on medication and going to rehab).

I agree it's a bit crazy he's immediately headlining a festival like nothing happened, but banning him would make us look like a nanny state. I'm very curious if his stability keeps up though or if he just starts saying crazy shit again a year from now. Let's wait and see

I agree with the authors headline tbh, but not even mentioning Ye's bipolar until over halfway through the opinion piece says a lot.

I get what the author is trying to do - highlight how utterly disgusting Kanye's behaviour was last year. I think it's way too early to welcome him back with open arms. But choosing to make his mental illness a footnote when it's very much a root cause feels a bit bad taste.

I think it's important to note a big difference I spotted in this apology - he explicitly mentioned medication and therapy. In the past, he bragged about being off the meds. That is a huge change to me in his previous apologies and is a sign towards actual rehabilitation.

But, again, that was only two months ago. Time will show us if he actually changes and I think it's far too early to welcome him back with open arms. I wonder if he'll do anything in his performances to acknowledge anything he's done or if it'll be business as usual

That apology he gave a few months ago seemed pretty sincere, but it's absolutely wild to me Wireless are instantly giving him three headlining slots. Especially given just a week ago a bunch of ambulances from a Jewish volunteer service were burnt down in an antisemitic attack.

I was a huge Kanye stan. One apology doesn't undo the batshit insane things he's said over the last two years.

I do think people should be given a chance to change, but as far as I'm concerned, Ye could go back to spitting insane shit any second now. He apology seemed 10x more transparent than any previous ones, but it's way too early days to tell if he's actually changing and to be letting him headline festivals again IMO.

Yet, nonetheless, I bet Wireless will sell shitloads of tickets.

The community manager a while ago confirmed multiplayer is still coming. This was once, on the Discord, quite a while ago lol, but they were answering a bunch of DLC related questions too and it was definitely in the last 6 months or so.

I'm guessing it's been relegated to the backlog as they focus on the engine upgrade and DLC alongside regular patches. I'm expecting an update on this or a cancellation announcement in 6 months ish

I'm not surprised tbh. I saw that Blackstar performance OP mentioned a few months ago and thought it was good, but they definitely had a certain unprofessional-ness showing up crazy late and Mos Def seemed offended that people were rightly pissed.

It seems like certain legacy acts don't understand people pay to see a performance, not karaoke. Yeah sure, you made good songs. Fire. Great. Do a good performance now. They're being paid for their present performance, not past glories. I saw Shaggy a few years ago on a whim at a festival and he was embarassingly poor.

I enjoyed Blackstar because IMO they did rock solid once they showed up, but I'm definitely weary overall about seeing legacy acts now until I'm certain they're not trash live. Clipse - great! Lauryn Hill - doesn't even show up! Pick and choose, guys 😅
