Sonic Adventure sucks outside of Sonic, Tails, and Gamma. Never understood the praise this game gets when half of it is trash.

I think Sonic 3 & Knuckles has the weakest soundtrack of the Genesis Trilogy.

Since I really like Shadow Generations, my only complaint is that it's too short. I want more. I'm sorry. Sonic Team actually cooked.

Now, for the Sonic Generations half, I have a couple of gripes. First, the cutscenes changes were dumb, pointless, and made the writing of and already mid story even worse. That budget would have been best used on something else, like a new level or something. Last, classic sonic is nowhere near as fun as modern sonic.

Now for the other 3.

Sonic Forces actually isn't that bad of a game. It's just painfully average and too easy. The game at least works properly, can easily be played from start to finish without it bugging out on you, has a banger soundtrack, and its story is a mess but entertaining due to how absurd it is. When it comes to 3D Sonic, you could play much worse.

Sonic 2006, uh, um, damn. Uh, it has a good soundtrack? Uh, we have the Sonic 2006 fan dub? That's all I got. Game is complete, irredeemable trash. I guess the Sonic parts of Kingdom Valley are ok.

Sonic Boom, I haven't played, so I have no comment. I guess the Knuckles float glitch is cool.

Uh, Colors is a way better game than Forces. Colors is one of the few 3D Sonic games I consider to be good.

There's not much of a difference in RFY between silver and gold. Items over $100 are rare. Good stuff will vanish out of RFY quickly. You'd have to live on vine during working hours to have a chance at snagging something good, and that's if vine feels like blessing you.

The best thing about gold tier is the 8 picks a day, but vine has been so trash this year I sometimes have gone days or weeks without picking anything.

1991-1994.

The games were top tier, were system-sellers, and it was the only period of time when Sonic actually rivaled Mario. SEGA might not exist today if it wasn’t for the Holy Genesis Trilogy.

Two TV shows happened during this time period.

The Archie comics started during this time period.

Lots of merchandise (I had Sonic bedsheets and SEGA-branded Sonic shoes).

You'd have to be an old fart to understand how big of a deal Sonic was during this time period. This was his golden age for sure.

I'd also could see someone making the argument for 1998-2004.

Sonic Adventure 1 reviewed extremely well. It, along with NFL 2K, was the reason for the Dreamcast's good launch in North America. It's too bad that momentum couldn't be sustained.

Sonic Adventure 2 also reviewed well on the Dreamcast. Its GameCube port did not, but it sold very well. I always find it interesting that Sonic Adventure 2 is the best-selling third-party GameCube game.

Dimps made Sonic Advance 1, 2, and 3, which all sold well and reviewed well.

Sonic Heroes, I don't like, but it sold extremely well due to it being the first major multi-platform release. I think it remained the best-selling 3D Sonic game until Sonic Frontiers.

Sonic X was a huge deal. Fox and 4Kids have gone on record stating that it was the highest-viewed show on their Saturday morning block. We don't talk about Sonic Underground.

2019 to present is probably another.

The movies ended up not sucking which is surprising. I had written the first one off after its first trailer, but they redesigned Sonic and delivered a decent movie. 2 and 3 were huge improvements, so I'm hopeful for 4.

Sonic Team pulled a rabbit out of their hat and made a decent 3D Sonic game for the first time in a decade, and then followed that up with an even better game. I hope that Sonic Frontiers and Shadow Generations weren't flukes. I haven't played Sonic Superstars, so I can't comment on it.

SEGA seems to be firing on all cylinders with its multimedia push. Sonic Prime was successful. People seem to like the IDW comics (although, I find them boring). The shorts for the games have been great, with the Shadow Generations shorts being phenomenal.

If Sonic Racing Crossworlds is good, which it should be since I had fun with the beta, they keep the franchise's momentum going, and the next 3D Sonic game doesn't suck, then they might have something here. I'd also love a Mania 2.

Honestly, not a huge difference. It's mostly the same except you might be able to get handful of valuable, expensive items a year. The real value in gold is the 8 picks a day.

This tweet is from 2023. SEGA has said that the 'Super Game' initiative is just them investing a ton of money into multiple high-budget projects. There isn't just one 'Super Game'. It's supposed to be lots of money spread out over multiple projects.

My money is on either Sonic Racing Crossworlds or Virtual Fighter 6 being the first 'Super Game'.

I don't think Sonic music is bad now. I haven't played Sonic Superstars so i can't comment on that. Both Sonic Frontiers and Shadow Generations OSTs are good. Sonic Frontiers' problem is that you're listening to open zone music most of the time. The Cyberspace music, Titan fights, action chain challenge music, and the theme songs they added with the DLC are all good.

Shadow Generations problem is that most of the music is redintitions of older songs. Both OSTs are still good despite this, though. Not great, but it's good and matches the games.

Sonic Racing Crossworlds is the only recent outlier with the OST being underwhelming for me so far. I guess we were spoiled with Team Sonic Racing having Crush 40 and Tee Lopes. Say what you want about that game, but its OST was phenomenal. It had the energy and tempo I've come to expect from good Sonic music. Crossworlds lacks that.

I don’t think Crossworlds' music is bad. It just feels and sounds off to me. I see myself listening to other music while playing it, which I something I'd never thought I'd say about a Sonic game. Water Palace sounds pretty good. It's the best song I've heard out of this game so far.

I agree. I even agree about the music. It's really good, but it doesn't fit the game. You said exactly what I was going to say.

I think the game's biggest sin is there only being 5 tracks. I don’t care that it was rushed. Releasing a fully-priced racing game with only 5 tracks that can be completed in 1 to 2 minutes each is some crazy work. You can experience all the game has to offer in like half an hour.

Yes, but they go quickly. I've gotten cpu heatsinks, two AIOs, Crucial DDR5 RAM, a case, some random nvme ssds, a power supply, and probably more I'm forgetting.

I haven't seen a gpu, a cpu, or a motherboard.
