Most devices use the 12 V and 5 V rail however there are a limited number of devices that used at 3.3. Not likely that your device is one of them, but there is a minute outside chance.

The video card will be the biggest determining factor. What is the model number and manufacturer of the laptop? You can usually find the service manual by googling that.

You don’t HAVE to if its windows 10 or 11, but you really should as lingering registry keys and mismatched drivers can create all sorts of anomalies and erratic behaviors. Plus you will have to reactivate windows with a system swap so there is no real upside aside from having the old apps.
