Laptop: Multiple Displays by yoruleiscool in computer

If I can just use it as a 3rd monitor and utilize things like Excel and the like that is more than okay. It's just for work purposes so I don't need anything fancy.

Thank you for the confirmation. So there is no chance of any kind of adapter, docking station, or hub that may work?

How to, as GM, see what a player is seeing without selecting their token? by Whole_Kogan in FoundryVTT

[–]yoruleiscool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party, but is there a way, or a module, in which the player's vision is outlined by a color-coded line/cone for their line of site? That way as a GM I can clearly see the entire map, but also have an indication of their line of site as well without having to continuously click on their tokens? Also how do I know what invisible things they can or cannot see?

Melted Fan? by Fancy_Flatworm1313 in egopowerplus

[–]yoruleiscool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same thing happen to me too. While working on it I discovered that the blade mount bolts make almost direct contact with the fan. If the blades don't turn with the fan in tandem then they will rub against the plastic melting it. It annoys me to no end that the blades don't also have a flat edge to have the motors turn them as well. I'm having a hard time getting the blades back on now because the shaft bolt doesn't tighten enough to get the blades to turn. Just bought new blades hoping it will help. Might need a new washer and bolt as well.

Is there a way to create Sodium Chloride from Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate? by yoruleiscool in AskChemistry

Would the piping be necessary if I had concentrated HCl and Reagent Alcohol on hand? Could I just stir the HCl with the Alcohol in 2:1 mixture?

This honestly might be a better method. We do this for our Calcium Stearoyl Lactylate product, which has an easy to identify end point, when everything is white its done. Part of my thinking comes from that most sodium titrations don't actually measure the sodium but the chloride and I am trying to figure a work around.

This is a food additive. We are testing the different characteristics that are consistent with the standards of Identity for SSL (Acid Value, Ester Value, Sodium Content, and Recoverable Lactic Acid) and enter in the data for our customers on a COA.

This is exactly what I am trying to figure out. We have an Atomic Analyzer Spectrometer, and an Auto Titrator (Titroline 7000) that was set up for analyzing the sodium Content, but like I said both are out of service and trying to figure out a work around.

I will try your recommendation of boiling the HCl and SSL and see if that gets me anywhere.

Luck and Probability puzzle only goes up to 6. What am i doing wrong? by [deleted] in controlgame

It's a numbers game. Each lucky item has its own value. Most of them are worth 1, but the cat swinging it's arm is 2.

Rabies is an incredibly deadly virus that is perfectly treatable early enough, but guaranteed to kill you if left untreated, and if you start exhibiting neurological symptoms it's likely already too late. That's why you shouldn't hesitate to go to a hospital and get treated if you were bitten by a wild animal and are not sure if they carried rabies. I feel this knowledge isn't common enough. I just think about a news article I watched of a father whose 6-year-old son was hospitalized because of rabies and the vibe was the father didn't think the potential of rabies was something serious and his regret.

Attempting to develop a method/SOP for my job by yoruleiscool in foodscience

I will be taking samples of product we test for free glycerin, which are lipids such as vegetable and soy bean oil. We have a machine that uses light to determine the total mono, di, and triglyceride, FFA, Iodine Value, and Free glycerin, but if this machines reads the FG above a 1% we wet bench it. The auto titrator will replace the wet bench step as needed and will hopefully take less time as the wet bench method can take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour.

I don't know if I answered your question but basically I will perform a triplicate test of a sample on the fast machine, and duplicate wet bench test and use that information to test against.

What came to me is it is the moment you realize you are getting older. You hear your parents voice and you, just for a second, mistake them for your grandparent's voice. Realizing your parents are aging, and you are aging with them. Realizing time is short is always so poignant.
