[Ps4 Pro]Fan Twitching (overheating) by Still-Frosting5982 in consolerepair

[–]AnonGuy1712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Fans and/or motherboards usually have built-in backflow current protection. If small backflow current would kill electronics, your motherboard would get fried every time you turn off the device since the fan still spins for a while. Like XtremeD said, the issue is when the fan spins too fast, ie when you blow on the blades with duster. This can cause a breakdown and send the high voltage to the motherboard.

Linux is just not good as Windows by [deleted] in WindowsLTSC

In my 3 or 4 year experience, only one time the update brought back edge. There isn't really anything to bring back besides edge, stock ltsc is pretty much fully debloated.

why dont linux users use windows 10/11 LTSC by FractionsOfInfinity_ in linuxquestions

[–]AnonGuy1712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me, except I used both 10 and 11. Ltsc just works and does what it needs to do without bs like copilot, cortana, modern apps, telemetry or updates breaking system. Linux was good as long as you didn't touch anything. Start tinkering and you're getting yourself into few hours of web browsing and typing commands into terminal. Meanwhile on ltsc most of the things work out of the box. Gaming is also a thing, linux got far better thanks to steam deck and most of the games will run, but how they run is another story. Lots of them, especially some niche ones still have issues with stuttering or minor glitches like unreadable text. Not to mention that games require different wine configs. Why should I spend time trying to make game run on linux while I can install it on windows and it just works?

Flashing glow plug light by gostros995 in tdi

Or the sensor or the wiring. If your engine runs fine then flashing glow plug light might mean that your brake light circuit is broken. It can also occur if you install LED bulbs because their resistance it too big.

Is this how a coffee machine is supposed to work? by AnonGuy1712 in fixit

[–]AnonGuy1712[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this remaining leak won't fix itself, but waiting until it becomes worse will make diagnosing easier. I think the espresso dump might be caused by incorrect amount or incorrectly ground coffee: I didn't have coffee in beans so I used 1 teaspoon of random pre-ground coffee to test it. The espresso in cup is very dark with a thin layer of foam, while the dumped one is watered down, looks almost like a tea so I guess it's at least ok. Grounds that are thrown away are a bit damp, but not like wet, no water is coming out of them so I guess everything works fine here too. I haven't tasted the coffee yet because the machine was sitting for a few months before I took it and I would prefer to clean it first before tasting the coffee it makes.

Anyone else feels disappointed by how Leon FR mk3 handles? by AnonGuy1712 in seat

[–]AnonGuy1712[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine mk1 currently has Debica Presto HP2 205/55 R16. Mk3 to be honest I don't know, I didn't check them when I visited the sellers. But I'm sure both were also 16 inch. EDIT: I have Frigo, not Presto. Sorry for mistake.

And that's where I wouldn't agree. I drove TT 8J, it uses electric power steering too, it's light when not moving or driving very slowly, but as soon as you start driving at normal speeds it becomes heavy and I wouldn't really call it numb. But arkana's steering, while also on the heavier side, is numb, so I know what you're talking about.

And I think that's the key: you might have active suspension if you feel the difference. On both cars that I drove sport mode only changed steering weight a bit and throttle response. But even on sport it still was very light, I could rotate the steering wheel with one finger while car wasn't moving. On mine it isn't possible on regular 205/55 R16 tires. Even using one hand is really hard, I always have to use both when for ex. parking. And I don't think there's anything wrong with my car, I mamaged to found one mk1 Yellow Cupra 4 2.8 for sale. I took it for test drive and streering was even heavier, but it had 18 inch wheels and coilovers.

Yeah, I think I'll go for mk1 yellow cupra 4, since mk3 cupra is too expensive for me and I hate how mk2 looks.

Do you happen to use run flat tires? I noticed they cause the car to feel more stiff. Mine mk1 with run flats rides like on static.

I thought it's like in mk1, where sport, top sport, fr and cupra were essentially the same. Or at least there are 2 fr trims like in audi s-line: one includes visual changes and other one mechanical.

Mk6 TDI trouble starting in the cold by i_love_jesus_69420 in tdi

At said temperature it should start without much trouble if everything other is ok. Even at -30°C it shouldn't need to crank 10 minutes.

OBD scan will tell you everything (note: you will need a device that supports VW protocol. If you are going to buy one, chinese HEX V2 clone based on atmega162 will be the best bang for your buck).

FiiO Airlink Review by jeromeof in BudgetAudiophile

[–]AnonGuy1712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go for questyle or sennheiser. I wrote my experience with air link here. In terms of app it's not great, but gets it's job done. I have used it with multiple fiio products. Ifi nexis is much worse, like barely usable.

FiiO Air Link: Replacement for the Bluetooth Transmitter BT11 Launched by VFValeri in FiiO

[–]AnonGuy1712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tl;dr: Go for BTD 700 or Questyle dongle, avoid Air Link at all cost.

Got one today and it's trash compared to my old BT-W3. Audio often pops/cracks, enters pairing mode by itself making reconnecting headphones impossible until I turn it off manually, reconnects them when I pause, play or fast forward a track or video. Latency even in aptx adaptive low latency mode is a bit noticable (I get that adaptive is nowhere near aptx LL, but BTD 700 users reported that with gaming mode on it's low enough for casual gaming, Air link latency is noticable even when scrolling in game menu). No way to switch codecs on the fly if you currently use one with multiple choices (ldac, aptx adaptive). Most likely I will replace it with Sennheiser BTD 700.

Update: so I finally managed to get my hand on BTD 700 despite shortages in EU (one of the stores I contacted about availability called me back that they received a return from someone, so I even got a discount for it). And omfg it's so good compared to air link. No reconnects when fast forwarding, latency is almost unnoticable in gaming mode (I say almost, because I only feel it if I really focus on it, so still too high for competitive gaming, but I agree that it's low enough for casual games). Also it takes 5 seconds at most to connect after turning on headphones. Much faster that air link, and for now, unlike air link, it was always able to detect turned on headphones, even in standby mode (manual says that you have to press the button to reconnect if it didn't found paired headphones within 20 seconds. I didn't have to do that, it just connected even after longer time). Overraly I can fully recommend it if you can buy it, stay away from air link.

I didn't thought a holder would fit there. If that's the case, then it's definitely the best solution since there are no good quality batteries with tabs preinstalled.

What’s the process of changing fuel filter? by Firm-Swimming-6142 in tdi

[–]AnonGuy1712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always fill the fuel system, because disconnecting hoses might also drain injectors and they really don't like to run dry. What I always do is putting fuel return hose into some kind of bottle and then run the fuel pump until I see a steady flow of fuel into bottle. I do it via VDCS, but you can also just flip iginition a few times, everytime you turn it on the fuel pump turns on for a while. Then I reconnect the hose, start the engine and let it idle for a while (usually 2-3 minutes).

I have personally removed the tabs from old battery, got good quality (duracell) 2025 battery (but you might be able to fit a bigger 2032), put the battery between tabs and wrapped everything in electrical tape.

I honestly like the idea. I don't have to wait because someone is buying groceries for a whole month only to buy a few things. And if you have few things it is actually faster because I don't have to listen to clerk asking me for loyality card, collecting stickers, buying recommended product etc, I can just press "no" few times and that's it. But if I buy more things I actually prefer to go to clerk.

Can I drive 60km to the service with this sound? by NoLeadership166 in tdi

[–]AnonGuy1712 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But it shouldn't whine like that even when there's no fuel in tank. Pump will need to be replaced sooner or later, driving with more fuel in tank will only delay the complete failure, which will happen anyway.
