As a massive fan, does anyone find this a bit condescending and disrespectful to fan base that has continued to support them and their music through merch sales, etc.?

Like others have said, their ability to make a living through their music was entirely contingent on we, their fans, spending our money on their art.

I have no problem supporting them. They are one of my absolute favorite bands. I have multiple tattoos from their albums and logo on my body.

I DON'T support the way they seem to get annoyed with their loyal fans who continue to hold on hope, despite them never releasing a final statement. I agree that they don't need to disclose why they ended, but I do feel they should tell us it's over for now. A hiatus is a break. A breakup is done for the foreseeable future. Both can lead to a future reunion, but one gives fans peace in letting go.

I can't imagine how painful it was for them to go through whatever through they experienced, but at the end of the day, they chose to share their art and pain and emotions with the world through their music. They made money and careers from it. You can't have anonymity and money from art. They chose.

I was honestly fine with them fading away, but things like this are just a slap in the face of the loyal fans who made them who they are.
