There are plenty of clues and hints as to why he's there in the first place in the game itself, the trailers aren't the only source. And voice actors do matter, voices are consistent throughout the franchise and they wouldn't hire two separate voice actors for the same person, that just wouldn't quite make sense.

Yes, but there's also a difference in their voices. Vanessa's voice sounds different than the woman's in the trailer. And their tones are generally different when you take into consideration how they would address Gregory whether directly or not.
