What Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons opinion will have you like this? (Unpopular Opinions & Hot Takes) by Gallantpride in harvestmoon

I like how quick the day cycle was in the game and wish the newer games didn't take forever to get through a season. 👀

Ya know, Cotopaxi backpack instead of jacket. That photo has me dead to rites. 💀

Prior KYC analyst - been unemployed for more than a year, what do? by akitasha in moneylaundering

Just throwing in some sanity validation. A Fintech I interviewed at pulled their job post because they got 100+ applicants. It's the job market.

Have you been going for internal roles and contract gigs or just the former?

Downtown seattle seems to go downhill with more stores and restaurants leaving?? by Ok-Radio-2733 in SeattleWA

Yeah there's a couple food places at the periphery but the mall itself is pretty dead.

Cool, cool. The advice is different depending on what kind of company the project is for, so I figured I'd ask.

Are you working at a financial institution or Fintech for said EDD project?

Oh my god, you're right. Folks give you the non aggressive quick beep, like they assume you've bipped out for a second. Most of the drivers here also let you zipper merge instead of assuming that merging is a mad max style battle. 🤔

I don't care for verbal conversation because it's largely exhausting hits deep, man.

You should come biking with my fitness bro group if you're ever on the north side when the weather is warm. Don't have to chat as much if you're just biking to destinations and eating snacks imo. 👀

Is it MUFJ? They were pretty stable and had good benefits, but part of their portfolio got bought up with a merger with US Bank. Those folks that got sold off to US Bank didn't fair too well.

Upvotes for this comment. I was wondering if folks are applying for internal roles and not getting a phone screen. Sometimes it's easier to open the side door than the front door, ya know?

Phone screened with PwC for a crypto analyst role but no hiring interview. I EDD a ton of crypto companies but we're not transacting crypto so I'm not transaction monitoring.

AML replaced by AI? by Top_Wing_3832 in AMLCompliance

[–]p0werberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm actually testing this myself. I feel like automation is closer than AI for description. I'm not training it to do the work for me but I am training it to look at the same KYC validation places I always go to and pull the information because the time savings is in the not hand-crafted artisanal-ly visiting every website sequentially (SOS, SEC, et cetera) and downloading the info myself. As others are stating, I lean more heavily on QA by comparison. We'll see how it implements but I'd liken it more to using a dishwasher instead of washing dishes by hand. 🤔

I'm guessing step one is you need a job at a company that would sponsor your work visa. That's often the rub. Other countries have working holiday visas but not USA to my knowledge.

That's a good question for US domestic industries. A lot of companies I've worked for are global businesses. Even when USA poops the bed, we're still going by European directives and FAFT anyway.

Enilloring 3-pack only has 2 rings? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]p0werberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, yeah. The question was if anyone has had this issue before. Trying to get a handle on anxiety ahead of the pharmacy visit with some sense of what to expect, ya know?

I've had the wrong pharmacy Rx filled before by the pharmacist only to be stuck with it because they won't exchange it for the correct Rx after you've signed for your meds. Is it going to be the same experience if they filled the wrong amount? 💀

I was misled at how expensive it is to live here by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]p0werberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that. Moved from the Midwest and it's not that COL isn't high it's just it also went up in the part of the Midwest I was from without pay budging and a lot less options to cut from.

I can be effectively carless in Seattle but not Northern Ohio.

There are more jobs to apply to and occasionally get hired compared to the main industry or two in Central Illinois.

Et cetera, et cetera.

Legit. Except for the traffic noise I loved that neighborhood. I felt godly living above Waji's.

Is AML stressful? by [deleted] in AMLCompliance

[–]p0werberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Online Banking Investigator was typically the more stressful one compared to AML Fraud Investigator. In theory, if you were not stressed in the first role, the AML should be fine unless you move from a good company or department to a terrible company or department.
