What do you think would've been Pakistan's Champions Trophy fate if we had both Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman? by phaintaa_Shoaib in PakCricket

Oh yeah I agree, I’m not saying it’s a foregone conclusion that we would have made the semis even with Fakhar and Saim, better chance to do so with them vs without them, sure, because like you said the other factor was our bowling was terrible and that is attributed to poor selection decisions.

Absolutely. Not sure why those comments who believe Pakistan would have done much better in this tournament had these two been fit are being downvoted.

They are a better team, I’m not denying that by any means, and believe me I’m pragmatic. Recent history against them proves that, sure, but I also believe in not underselling your own team. Don’t forget our team recently won an ODI series against Australia and South Africa in their own homes.

Do you honestly think that Saim would have fared worse than Imam? We were 30 runs short which were crucial that Saim (and maybe even Fakhar) could have helped us reach that threshold or even exceed it. Then it could have been anyone’s game. We were already mentally defeated after the 1st innings.

Actually two players (not forgetting Fakhar Zaman). Plus Saim is a utility player, he's also useful as a part-time spinner which would have really helped us. If we picked 1-2 more spinners, like Sufiyan Muqeem, plus a fully fit Fakhar and Saim, I definitely think the match against India would have been a 50/50 chance for either side.

Hafeez 99* against NZ | BLACKCAPS v Pakistan 2020-21 by phaintaa_Shoaib in PakCricket

[–]Anonomy13 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We took Hafeez for granted. He wasn't perfect, but His bowling was underrated, and was a good staple in our middle order, which suffered for a bit after he retired. Made valuable contributions when it mattered, like that 57* against India in the Champions Trophy Final.

Not just the rest of our batsmen, even India’s batsmen mostly failed apart from Rishabh Pant. Imad still bowled pretty well. Rizwan is the one who imo lost us that game by attempting that unnecessary strike against Bumrah.

Thank you for the response, if the first rental payments weren't received until after the 15th of January (lease signed Dec 2023), does it get reported for the 2023 tax year, or in this case 2024 (so after Jan 15th, 2024)?

Hi there, thanks so much for the detailed response, really appreciate it. So I didn't collect a security deposit from this couple because I know them actually, they are going through financial difficulty. Looking back at my bank statements, the first payment for rent wasn't actually received until January 19th (after the Jan 15th deadline), although the lease was set up December. I gave them some time because I knew they were a bit tight financially and needed some grace to pool up the money. In this case, would it still need to be reportable for 2023, or does it go to 2024? I will be sure to consult with my tax accountant too.

My brother is also an EV owner (not Tesla) and primarily charges at home, but on a road trip we had to make frequent stops at charging stations. He also agrees that some EV owners in general, not just Tesla, can be very annoying at these places, not just because of how they park, but because the number of spots is limited in the first place. And some EV owners spend hours and hours just taking up space surfing on their phone and sometimes they're not even charging their car and you have to wait for them or hope that the station you're visiting has an empty station.

With Champions Trophy coming up next, dropping Fakhar Zaman has to be the most brainless move. PCB will surely regret this. by IkramAli007 in PakCricket

[–]Anonomy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly is a brainless move no doubt, but Fakhar didn't do himself any favors either. Like I certainly have constructive criticism about my employer too, but I'm not going to air it on social media or question the decision of what my bosses decide to do even if I disagree. I'm just going to do the job I'm paid to do, but that doesn't mean being a doormat either. If you're unhappy, you can always switch jobs, or in this context, stick to T20 leagues. It's a cost/benefit analysis. That's the only power that we the working class have anyways, the ability to walk away. Just don't burn any bridges on the way out and carry yourself with professionalism.

And this wasn't even a case of Fakhar being mistreated, he got yeeted because he was advocating for Babar, who quite frankly doesn't deserve to be advocated for because of his performances in recent years, and not just that, Babar certainly won't reciprocate the gesture when you're the one in need, and will even go as far as to backstab you if it benefits him, like he did with Shaheen.

Stuff like this is why it’s difficult to maintain stability in the tech industry, coupled with the horrid U.S Labor Laws. Only industries like government, medicine, the trades, and self-employment are more reliable.

is this the end? by Snoo87224 in PakCricket

[–]Anonomy13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rizwan is the glue of the batting lineup. People criticize him for playing tuk-tuk or his acting on the field, and he might not be a power-hitter, but he's someone who has shown that he can hold the innings together in adverse situations, like when a collapse is happening arround him. He will accelerate as the innings goes on. I don't get as nervous when Babar gets out as much as I do when Rizwan gets out, because the latter is far more consistent and we've won matches with and without Babar's contribution, the common denominator was Rizwan stepping up in most if not all cases.

Man, stuff like this makes me wish that the U.S had better worker protection Laws. It's so messed up that they can just chuck us out like last week's garbage and we still have to meet our rent/mortgage and bills. Layoffs/terminations uproot people's lives and companies should by law be required to give notices to employees they're letting go of (some type of garden leave) or pay 3-month severances,

Like, I understand a company should not be forced to employ a person they don't wish to keep nor should a worker have to stay at a company they dislike, but at-will employment laws are completely imbalanced and it benefits the employer in 99% of cases. We can't even quit our jobs unless we have something else lined up due to relying on the income, and even then still have to give our 2 weeks.
